    If "Jesus of Nazareth" the figure claimed to be "The Christ" in the N.T actually existed , I err on the side of thinking that he did, but if he did, he died around 30AD or so.

    He could not therefore, after that sad event, be "present" anywhere.

    Yes, Jesus was present from 1914, the reason you cant see him, well, its like hes out in the Wilderness for now, if you go with the Witnesses though, they will surely soon lead you to him, in fact LOOK!!,, its even written in scripture, Matthew 24, signs of the Last days!

    23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time. 26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out;

    "Was the Christ invisibly present in 1914?"

    With my Dubbie Hat perched slightly askew.....

    A resounding YES!!!

    Granted in the year 1914:
    A) Russell was still alive and hailed to be the 'Faithful and Discreet Servant'
    B) The parousia was professed/taught to have occurred in 1874 (enthronement in 1878)

    (Please note the change of the enthronement from 1878 to 1914 occurred under Rutherford's presidency. The change of the parousia from 1874 to 1914 occurred under Knorr's presidency. Presently these revisions are still professed/taught by the WTS)

    But Yknot, I'm slightly surprised to r rad this from you.

    It's hard to see this whole question of Jesus being invisibly present in 1914 as anything other than the result of pure fantasy.

    whilst I don't want to tread on anyone's toes, nor to cause offence, nonetheless this smacks not so much of sci-fi but of pure fantasy fiction. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything spiritual. The calculations of timings, from Biblical texts, become all-absorbing as ever more accurate prophecies are sought and, when found, stretched to fit a theory, but the real message of love and compassion is submerged beneath all the calculations and rules and regulations.

    It has virtually nothing to do with God whatsoever.

    Giggles....

    It was me being a 'good dubbie' but batting my eyelashes at the fact that 1914 in 1914 isn't at all what it is for us today.....

    I wonder how many years until they change 1914 to some other date or decide to just stop mentioning it altogether.
