When I was a kid back in the 50's, I was led to believe if you died before Armegeddon

and were not a witness, that was it because

in most of the civilized world the witnessing had been done so, therefore those who died who

were not witnesses had rejected the message just like the people in Noahs day. Maybe I was missinformed

or maybe they have had many and various new lights since my day.

Wow, I haven't thought about that in years. I did wish certain people I loved would die before the Big A. I never went so far as to want to kill them myself, but wishing for someone's death is twisted enough.

This puts a lot of culpability on the creators of the doctrine that induces these thoughts and feelings in their adherents. The Watchtower deals with large numbers of people and not everyone is psychologically stable and some may ACT on those twisted thoughts. I am sure it has happened before, but were just brushed off as isolated incidents.

My parents often comment how happy they are that at least one of their five children will be in the paradise (one is dead, four are apostates)

I remember as a child really wishing my Grandparents would die before armageddon because I loved them so much

I remember that; even as a child, it always felt really weird to feel sad that a non-JW had died young but relieved to know their resurrection was guranteed.

Just joining the ranks here of previously thinking and wishing death to befall some before Armageddon so they would "definitely" live forever.

Isn't cult thinking and reasoning wonderful, brothers and sisters? How happifying!

Happy are God's people who put on the new (Watchtower) personality and faithful til the end!

When my brother was dying of cancer (at age 44) he was at peace because he knew he had a straight ticket to paradise. He always struggled with being a witness (either extremely spiritual or barely going to meetings). For him, I think it was a relief for him because the struggle was over. I was having my awakening at the time so it was kind of hard for me to take.

    Who knew, I'm not crazy.

Alright, perhaps I'm still crazy... But not because of this!

Spanks folks - It's weird to have people say "I know what you mean": It's no small thing.
