    I can't resist...

"Dear [insert name of favorite delusion or name of current deity of choice here],

Please help me open the eyes of those nutjobs...

Who either have not done sufficient research to understand how it is that you CANNOT exist...

Or give me the patience to put up with their wacked attempts to either:

    (a) prove scientific facts wrong based on their "faith", euphemistically referred to as "evidence" or worse yet, "proof" or ...

    (b) attempt to "show" or "prove" that I somehow am using "belief" when I refer to facts that are largely available for ready observation by most people willing to put out the effort...

Amen? So Mote It Be??? meh - whatever...."

I saw a show about the region of the brain that activate during prayer/meditation/rituals. It was very interesting to see that the active neurons differ depending on what kind of belief system you have. During monotheistic prayer, the language centers in the brain activate in ways quite similar to those when having a conversation with someone (both listening and speaking). The Buddhist type faiths activate completely different regions as their "divine" (if you can call it that) is not a person, but more of a place. The visual areas activate.

All of this comes down to the focused activation of regions in the brain and the release of chemicals into the body which can promote healing and a sense of good will or purpose.

I imagine that this is a good thing when practiced with the right intentions in mind.

praying (those that believe). God I leave it in your hands,

you handle it, my problem is yours now, and it,s out of' my

hands. I am going to sleep now with no worries.

Yeah, but I suspect one can get similar results from going to comedy clubs and watching many comics perform on TV...

I havent prayed "for real" in years, as I believe that it just isnt very effective. But to answer your question, there simply is no right or wrong way to pray... There is no list of general guidlines all human beings must follow in order to get your prayer to god... Any rules put on prayer have been by man, not a divine being.

Oh and Killa you nailed it man! I was LMAO haha!

If that was the "correct" way to pray to god, then I'd start praying again!
