But anyway we realize it, getting off their crazy treadmill is awesome.

Funny yesterday a JW friend confided that she gest more out of watching Joel Olsteen (spel?) than she does at the kingdom hall. A couple of weeks ago another JW friend confided that she is tired of feeling guilty everytime she comes home from a meeting or assembly. So I agree as well that the watchtower is rotting from the the inside out.

I think my brother is on his way out, he's been inactive for a while and when he was having some drinks with my husband he made some comments to the affect that I think he might have even been checking things out on the internet and know it's a bunch of bs now. I think we are both afraid to talk about it with eachother, thinking the other might go tell our parents. I would love to talk to him about it but Im refraining.

Thanks for posting this, it gives me hope that maybe at least one person in my family will leave without me ever having to say a word. I wish my parents would see how ridiculous and controlling they are getting, but I highly doubt it, almost 40 yrs in it would have to be something HUGE. We can wish though, right?

Has anyone noticed that when anyone becomes irregular/inactive/fades, they often do not even get a call from the BOE? As least that is our experience and that seems to be the case from so many experiences here. OneDay's experience refers to THREE different JWs planning to phase out, and none of them refer to any hounding by the Elders.

I think the Top JW Brass have come to realize that it's futile -- once someone begins to learn TTATT, they just give up on them. Evidently there are not many successful attempts at restoring their thinking (Gal. 6:5). They no longer bother to leave the safe association of the 99 faithful sheep to attempt a rescue of the 1 lost sheep. (Luke 15:4)

Another poster mentioned that their observation has been that as soon as the Elders determine that any publisher who is questioning anything has been reading "objectionable" material or esp apostate info online, they quickly drop all effort to readjust their thinking and move immediately to "Do you believe this is Jehovah's Spirit Directed Channel of communication on earth today?"

When I started missing a lot of meetings my ex-husband was still attending regularly. He came home one evening and told me the elders wanted to pay a shepherding visit on me. While wanting to explode like a volcano, I kept my cool and told him that I already knew every single one of the scriptures they would read to me, and since they couldn't address what was actually bothering me (pedophilia in the org) there was no point in them wasting their time.

He persisted in trying to arrange a visit, so I gritted my teeth and told him, "Do not invite them over. If you do I will leave the house."

He backed down with a shocked look on his face. I think that's when he realized I was an apostate.
