    Cloning workers will be an easy sell at first- they will do the dirty jobs that people don't want- the increased profits will allow the unemployed to collect more welfare- and then one day the Corporate plutocracy will have enough cloned workers and cloned a soldier army to stop paying the taxes to support the unemployed lower classes- then the fun is over.

    The spoiler is getting me more interested, even though tom hanks is in it. I like the idea of incarnation, and find it interesting that the wachouskis are putting it out there.

    ' the filmmakers decision to use nearly all of their actors in multiple roles is arguably as confusing as it is clarifying. Are all the characters played by Hugo Weaving the same soul? Perhaps—they’re certainly all evil. But what about Halle Berry? In 1973, when she’s a muckraking journalist, and in “106 years after the Fall” (well into the future), she’s heroic. But in the 1930s she’s the mostly silent and occasionally adulterous wife of an egotistical composer.'

    Inherited genetics can easily explain that. It modifys the appearance of the growing/evolving soul.

    ' So which is it: Are all the characters played by Tom Hanks the same soul? Or is each character with the birthmark the same soul?;

    No problem. Souls aren't as restricted as we here in the material world are used to. They could simply split themselves into multiples or copies, if it was deemed as more interesting or more beneficial.

    I look forward to seeing this. The more spoilers, the better.

    Well, 'War Horse' was a pretty good movie.

    Would love to see 'Cloud Atlas', though. Well, okay, the theme speaks to me very strongly, and Halle Berry doesn't hurt, either. So...pretty much I'm in, but I'll have to wait for the Blu-ray. I like movies that make you think or, as a guy in another 'Atlas'-named story once said, "Check your premises."

    The cubicle that the workers sleep in each night, reprograms their memory and prevents long term memory patterns ( to prevent revolts). That way the workers clones don't go stark raving mad from their serfdom. They think after 12 years work they are going to get released from slavery and go to Hawaii to live.

    Cloud Atlas was well done in my opinion. I don't take it as a life change, just a movie. But I appreciated what they were trying to convey. It seemed they dumbed it down just a bit, and in doing so their points became self-aggrandizing just a bit.

    But overall, I enjoyed it very much for the stories, and the conclusions they brought the viewer to.

    Saw it didn't really enjoy it, too many plot twists and difficult to follow at times just when you grasp in to something everything changes

    and once again your lead down a path of confusion. The story in whole is kind of depressing .

    Its the kind of movie where one would be better off to read the novel first then go see the film, just to get a better preconceived understanding

    of the plot.

    Sometimes great novels don't necessarily make for a good movie on film.

    I liked it. One of those movies where you'd get something new each with each viewing

    I downloaded and watched it. Hard to follow. I don't like out of sequence movies. Some start in on a great action scene, and then jump back a few days or hours. I hate that. This one takes 6 timelines and breaks them up even further. Whats the point of that? Like a movie diced into a rubic cube. I'm thinking about reediting it and putting everything in proper sequence - see if that helps it.
