Of course, we do not know the other side of the controversy. The Jerusalem group disappear when Jerusalem fell. James appears to be the entire GB, which makes sense if he is related to Jesus.

Don't you find it difficult to believe that the Jerusalem group sent out emissaries to correct Paul's teaching. Certainly, James and Peter had to know about their travels and did not recall them. We know the side of the victor. The defeated do not write history. Of course, convincing JWs that James is a relative and that an alternative to Paul was prob. more legitmate is impossible.

What was so bad about circumcision and noble about non circumcision. Acts is attributed to Luke, Paul's companion.

What happens to the formerly anointed FDS in heaven? I don't see dead bodies dropping from the sky. It is a scary development.

Will they have Memorial this year?

One of the current memebers of the GB and his wife lived in our place for some weeks some time back. a deeply spiritual man, gracious sister. I had the impression (not expressed) that he would loved to have started his tenure at the GB doctrinally from scratch. Think of it, these brothers have inhereted a very difficult menue of past spiritual food. Every word of the valid criticism we read on these pages might well be true, and the GB is stuck with it. WT writers normally have to check new manuscript against existing old "new" light; so it is perpetuating the past saga. Like the chinese lesdership they seem to opt for stability. The present unstable stack of linked doctrines is not their creation, and one honest major revision like the dicarding of the "unanointed Christian OS non partaker idea" would disprove the rest of the dogma and stumble many. So these brothers need all the help they can get. Fortunate for us is the fact that our salvation is not dependent on their good offices but is assured by God's own provision for salvation in Christ.

I know some JW's that have more or less left the org but are now poring over this website and the ideas they talk about.

I'm happy they've left the ORG, but I'm a bit worried about this site. Any opinions on if I should try and help them get over this stuff - or is it relativly safe for a believer?

I'm an Atheist so all delusional stuff bugs me, but looking at the site there'e a question about Ray Franz and they basically respond saying they haven't read his books but kind of sort of agree he was on the right path (so I assume they HAVE read his books) and don't really encourage anyone to read them (keep em dumb). Spells danger to me.

    How should I apporach this?
