Punk: thanks for your replies. Its good to hear what happens to other people, and no you didn't hijack the thread. Post more!
Thanks everyone for your comments..it is really disgusting that they teach that people are not deserving of life but that of death due to imperfection inherited from Adam. The damage that this has on its members and those that eventually manage to escape their clutches is insurmountable. There are so many JW's being treated for depression and so many on leaving need the care of a professional to support them through the trauma.
I work as a nurse and as I use to hear these things at the meeting I never agreed with their teachings because its against everything you're taught to do and uphold in healthcare, i.e everyone is deserving of life (the extents we go to to preserve life and save life), the dignity we accord our patients with (versus the dignity that is stripped off people getting them to confess so called sins, and the inquisitions that occur in JC on abuse/victims), that people have a right to decide for themselves (so patients are empowered to speak out for themselves and their rights are protected and maintained by nursing staff), that patients and family are empowered by educating them with knowledge so that they can make their own informed decision (if it comes to the attention of nursing staff that the patient is being manipulated by family or significant other strategies are employed to get the patient on their own and making their own decision).
As you can see there is a complete contradiction of the life I lived..One thing at work and another in the borg. I use to try to twist the teachings of the borg to make them more palatable and acceptable. I would imagine this would be common amongst R&F.
