I see it all the time and it makes me sick ! I'm getting back in and no way I want any kind of position. The guy I studied with was a pushy elder, he finally got deleted. I hope he learns from it, he's now back as an MS but I can still detect some attitude. Jehovah does not always use the best, he uses those that are available, thus a very imperfect org.

I can live with that, but my days of being manipulated are done

    Well, of course!

    It's all they've got.

It's not like many of them have accomplished anything of real merit or worth outside of the organization.

Introvert WHY do you want back in? Look around first, try other options.

Introvert WHY do you want back in? Look around first, try other options " Faye, I have an open mind. I grew up catholic and I hated everything about it. No matter where you go people will be petty, selfish, jealous, manipulative, status seeking etc. People lower down on the social scale have a special place in my heart, I greet everyone the same from the welfare bum to CEO's. Many people in the org are sick and need hope. The Kingdom basics just make plain common sense ( to me ) as I'm simple. Many things I don't like, I can roll with it for now and am hoping there will be improvements. I had some great friends I let go when I got in, they didn't hold it against me and am working on re establishing these friendships. In our out no difference to me any longer.

    I gave you a like

Think about that statement....so we are supposed to put our confidence in men who are only available? Whoa. I have been hearing all my life that these are imperfect men. Well, yes they are imperfect but according to what we have been told they are chosen by holy spirit. I don't buy it anymore (not sure I ever did). I would NEVER trust ANY of these "men" with any intimate details of my personal life. I will take my chances on figuring things out myself without giving these henchmen any rope to hang me with.

I agree with the above comments. Why do you want to go back? With all due respect, I don't see the attraction.

I don't see the attraction either. But introvert, I do like where you are going with this...to support the downtrodden within the org. I don't agree with you about witness doctrine, but if it works for you and you aren't going to hurt anyone that's fine. The more truly loving people in the org, that's fine with me. Might spread some seeds.

Introvert, you sound like a unique person.

I had a similar feeling as you have once. Unfortunately, I wasnt able to go the distance as it has turned out. The corruption got to be too much.

I guess you could say I was too close to the fire.

Now I have backed way of,. at least as far as meetings are concerned. I will still be involved in some ways since my family are to a large degree "in" and since over half the people that work for me are JWs.

I like your thoughts and appreciate your mindset.

Cool thanks Millie, I love your Avatar ! If I make it into the new system I would like to build a few. That and machine the governors that control the speed of the equipment inside. I was orphaned, explains a lot. Jehovah is my dad now. Am a small business owner, no staff or family in JW at all, I'm in on my own. JW's gave me my bible knowledge, I started from nothing.

Ever see the 1985 movie 'Witness' with Harrison Ford, that's how I'd like to live.

Ha ! No way I'll ever show up at a hall with an Ipad ! Simplicity rules.

Look at ME I have an ipad ! Personal choices, not for me. I really should not be judging though.
