So-called Type A personalities are risk-takers...or so we are told.

    I don't know about that.

I know that people aren't easily categorized into neat little folders of behavior.

I know that some of us are very very reluctant to TRY NEW THINGS while others have a sense of adventure.

    How about you?

Are you a person who TRIES NEW THINGS?

Tell us what you've tried that is new to your life, lifestyle or tastes.

    For myself here it is.

I was urged by my cousin to buy a bicycle and I didn't want to do it.

I had all those "practical" reasons such as "I'll fall off." "I'll get hit by a car." "it will damage my prostate." etc.

The important thing is this: I went to a bicycle shop and test rode one.

    INSTANTLY it changed my mind.

I bought a Diamond back hybrid 7 speed bicycle and really enormously enjoy going out almost every day riding and exploring.

    It has changed my life!

It is FUN. Do you know how hard it is to have FUN when you are 65 years old? :)

    Okay, your turn.

Are you a person who TRIES NEW THINGS or not?

If you are, what NEW THING have you tried and how did it work out?

I also was urged to go on on of those free dating sites (Plenty of Fish). I did--much against my own best judgement.

It was fun and an interesting rediscovery of myself. I met some great people.

I made one good permanent friend, too.

NEW THINGS=changes that come to our life that make it more worth living, imho.

I went to a Leadership meeting in Pittsburg, PA all by myself. That may not seem like much, but I never travel alone. I am a wimp. When I saw my room, I was so glad I was alone, it was so nice. In fact, by the time I got off the plane, I had made four new acquaintances who were also going to the same meeting. I had a great time. When I left, I had made 12 new friends. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I had a lot of fun. Now I want to try NYC.

I have donated blood and voted in local and national elections, both new things for me, and fun to do as I know my JW family would be knocked sideways if they saw me doing either of those, but who cares ? Both are good things to do, and just because I used to be a JW I am not going to be stopped from doing good.

I must write a list of "Things to do before I get as old as Terry",which is cobblers anyway 'coz you will always be a couple of years older then me , oh Ancient One.

I'll try to eat any food once, if I hate it, never again. Sometimes, I gag over what has been sampled, but I've never outright puked. Also, started venturing to the big city to try out museums, something my family never was willing to do...I love the ancient tapestries and iconic art. Started lifting weights.

I am open to new experiences, as long as I have a buddy. I'm a chicken when it comes to doing new things all by myself.

I carved a jack O lantern for the first time in my life this week, it was great fun. Once I tried head cheese, not so much!
