I'm surprised they don't release the numbers sooner such as through a letter or even on the website. The majority of congregations email or enter the attendance on the website attendance that night. Within days they'd get the numbers from the other branches.

Nabeska Nada: You may have something. With the GB distancing themselves from the rest of the anointed....I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped publishing the numbers. Or at least stop making such a big deal about HOW MANY partake...

I will go further on that - I think that not only will they stop publishing the number of partakers, but that they will no longer much care about who partakes any longer. (now that the general annointed are pretty much meaningless - not the faithful slave class any more)
We may see the day when most JWs end up partaking in a number of years and the literal 144,000 is forgotten about in the literature.
After that, new light could come along saying that the 144,000 was "evidently" a symbolic number after all.
