The RS list said Ginger Baker practically invented the rock drum solo.

"Fresh Cream" with Ginger Baker's "Toad" was released in late 1966. Most of what's on your list came out after that. Although you are correct about "Wipeout" being first. I saw Cream sometime in '68 or '69. Great show, Baker spent 20 minutes or so beating the hell out of what was then probably the biggest drum set on stage anywhere.

I know the jazz artists were kicking out solos from way back when. Nothing against Ginger Baker. Still listen to old Cream records

Any favorite drums will do. The RS list got me thinking about rock jazz/rock.
My Dad had swing tune/New Orleans jazz recordings at my house when I was little,
