HECK YEAH! I'm feeling so much better, I see greens and blue sky and the water. I'll never go back to that mental social prison ever. I have found me some peace.

Interestingly, all kinds of talents showed up after I left, too - it was as if a mountain had been lifted from my shoulders!!

Yes! That is a very good analogy. I felt lost, like the world passed me by, and felt like I didn't fit in anywhere.
But...at the same time deliriously happy to be out and free.

Yes, especially the first months after leaving, I remember appreciating the most simple freedoms that everyone around me took for granted. Silly things like clinking my glass without a mental conversation at a business lunch or wearing an above the knee skirt would almost make me dizzyingly happy.
