CA, my comments were not framed in terms of believer v non believer so your conclusion about what I did to the thread (e.g., derailed it) is wrong.
In my initial response, I provided a basic sociological overview of what the gospels accomplish - so took a slightly different approach to the question posed in the thread subject line. I rounded it off by including a centuries' old quote that had observed well before our day and age that humans in general - which, um, also includes me - are predisposed to want something to be true.
Your reaction to my pretty brief comment appears to have been colored by statements I have made on other threads. If you had not known my previous posts, you probably would not have given my comments a second thought.
You were the one who first raised the believer v non believer divide. You have definitely contributed to derailing the thread topic - which is fine. But you do need to own your own contribution to the way this has panned out.
