So there's actually a specific word that describes most of your comments. ......... just kidding
I call that speaking out of both sides of your mouth.
Interesting... this is actually a common word in the Spanish language (spelled tergiversacion)... most hispanics will say that the definition of this word is "a twisting the facts" ... but this Princeton Univesity definition is interesting...
What a wonderful word!
I shall have to find a way to slip it in to everyday conversation!
I just thought of a sentence I might use with that word. "Give it to me stright. I don't want any of your tergiversation!" It is a cool word.
It sort of sounds like a description of earth-moving equipment operations...
Funny. I thought Terry took the first 3 letters of his name T. E. R. and created this word. I guess I was giving him too much credit. So, I looked up the word and found "Tergiverstate" in the "American Heritage College Dictionary" :
1.To use evasions or ambiguities; equivocate.
2. To change sides; apostatize.
Great word :)
peace,
tammy
