If the old testament god came down and made the same pronouncements today - we would be sending up jet fighters to intercept him like in the move Independence Day.
Terry, like it or not YOU are a faithful and discreet slave according to Christ, imo. I used to think I was, then I knew I wasn't, then I thought I could be, now I just don't know..I just am. JW rank and files are trying. Their leaders are haughty. I feel sorry for them. I am not better than them. I may be worse. At least they are sincere. I am just bitter, and angry and tired. Perhaps like Tammy says I have fear. I know I have fear. I know my life as I know it will be destroyed if I shine, so I hide it. Hiding your light is what slowly kills you day by day... Perhaps it is just a phase. I heard someone say that you can't rush a metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly. You may want to help that caterpillar, but you will only damage it. People are that way. Sometimes your hands are tied. You have to let things run their course. At any rate, I found your post encouraging. I am not the best person or JW or Christian, but now, I can spot an idol when I see it. I guess that counts for something. It's a step in the right direction.

Aw...
((Data-Dog)) You seem to be seeing and evaluating pretty clearly what is hurting you, embittering you, and tiring you. Keep your chin up. I know how hard it can be to let that light within you shine, within and without that religion. Sometimes doing something good, something loving, something that puts others first, even over yourself, especially if it is against what the people around you accept as the norm... these can be what gets the most flak from people around us. I wish it wasn't that way. But a good thought to consider is that some who WANT to let their light shine, get a little braver when they see someone else do the same.
Bit by bit Data-Dog. I like your caterpillar analogy.
Peace to you both,
tammy
