Hey, that quote is from the psychologist that runs the International Cultic Studies! He boiled it down to those two rules that are found in high control religious groups (aka cults). Other cults follow the same rule, but insert the groups' goal (Authority for (Truest way to Get Rich, Truest form of Yoga, etc)

Any person in this cult coming up with anything that isn't "current lieght" is branded an Apostate and DF'd. No independent thinking or study with this group. The WTS is in total control of a JW's beliefs & life. They TELL you what you will currently believe, and will use your family against you to keep your thinking in line with their current thinking.

Truth is only accepted if the leaders deem it to be true. If you know a fact and yet the leaders say it is not so, then you either accept it or keep your knowledge to yourself. As has been said in the past, if you saw a green colored bible and the Watctower said it was red, you should see it as red!!!

DF definitely.
Grace (Mouthy) was DF for saying she didn't believe Jesus returned invisibly in 1914.
Now it is in print in the "Proclaimers " book: "Christ did not return (even invisibly) in 1914"
I disagreed with the teaching that the door to the annointing was closed in 1935. having pointed out the inconsistencies and ridiculous possibilities of the teaching, and showing from Hebrews that annointed ones lost their "crown" if they fell away, I was bullied into recanting, or being DF. So I just said:
"You were right. I am sorry" ( dont those word usually get said to a wife, not the elduhs?)
At one time you would be DF for accepting blood fractions (disrespecting the sacredness of life)
Now the elduhs have been instructed to tell older witlesses who refuse them that they are disrespecting the sacredness of life unless they accept.
Whatever happened to our own consciences?
