All of us here know very well that the WTB&TS does absolutely nothing on a charitable basis for the communities they operate in. They don`t come within COO-EE of any other religous organization that does so . Name one charitable benefit that the WTB&TS does for the community that other religions dont do ,other than preaching , leaving bible based literature ,which all religions do in their own way anyhow.

The Jehovah`s Witnesses do zilch for the community .

Get the Jehovah`s Witnesses to identify what charitable benefits they contribute to society , then compare them with other religous intitutions including the R.C.church ,Anglicans,S.D.A.,Uniting Church , and a host of other religous organizations that do a wonderfull service to the needs of people when their down.

The WTB&TS approach to that ?...... is We have given you a bible message to solve your problems . go fix it .

I doubt JW's will ever get hit up for income taxes, as they don't pay salaries to anyone. Its all 'voluntary', like the Boy Scouts. However, I think religions that have established huge global property holdings, particularly from full-time volunteers like the JW's (a form of slave labour) and enforced tithing like the Mormons, should pay some sort of capital gains tax.

They should not be able to claim back the Tax paid by taxpayers on their donations, as they do at present in the U.K under a system known as Gift Aid, which of course helps many a small genuine charity, every pound that is gift aided is worth at least £1.28.

The JW's are a fraud as a charity, this should be exposed.

raymond frantz - "there is an underground attack on Christianity in Britain that can be found on many levels of society and goverment today..."

You are aware that the bullet point allegations you listed after that statement are some of the most popular hot-points favored by Right-Wing religious conspiracy theorists, aren't you?

vidiot : I'm not aware of right wing conspirasists but I do think that freedom of speech is under attack in Britain from new censorship laws

Freedom of speech in Britain has already been successfully attacked in many ways, and is , as you say , still under attack, we need to protect what little rights we have left, Clarkes so called Justice Bill is another thing to keep an eye on, but we are somewhat off topic now, my fault as much as anyones.

I do hope we can get some momentum for attacking the JW's fraudulent Charity status here in the U.K . It is a scandal.

Compared with the churches here that are operating Free Food Banks for those currently getting severely hit by the austerity measures and unemployment, th WTBS looks very unChristian. No surprise there for us.

The Watchtower's charitable status is not the only one under threat. The Illuminati are staging a public relations camaign criticizing the tax-free status of all religions, especially the Catholic Church. By the time this happens globally, you can bet real estate prices will be so low that the Illuminists will usurp Church land for pennies on the dollar, not unlike 16th century England, except they outright stole the land back then.

@Raymond Franzt - Should I pay you to practice your religion, no matter how despicable your beliefs are to me, or how limited your contribution to the community we share?

    That is the issue.

they are able to get away with it because they claim the same status as other religions they bash all day long, yet do nothing that most other religions they bash all day long do.
