I say - General TEE So

Friend 1 says - General Chow Su

Friend 2 insists - General CHO

    It just got real...

I thought about it and realize that I never pronounce it.

You pronounce it exactly as it is written. TSO. The T and the S are sounded together, as we do when we. Say "it's".

And then just O as in the O of surprise.

Like ts at the end of any word, as in stats. Perhaps with a bit of an emphasis on the S, and you'll have it right, just the one syllable.

And the S is soft. Not like a Z. Bit of a hiss to it, but only a tiny bit.

Sorry Chariklo, but since you hide your face, I cannt trust you. Psalms told me that.

But according to your accurate-seeming explanation, my friends owe me an apology...

Google - it's a 'search engine' and is a really good place to ask questions, and get an instant answer.

    HOWEVER,

I would say 'ask a Chinese person' - it may be that Anglos simply can't pronounce it correctly, and that the pronunciation is Anglicized anyway! It's Chinese, for cat's sake. lol

btw, good luck with the argument,,,

If my Texan friend and I survived the 2004 Election of Dubya, your friendship can survive this argument.

    Trust me on that one!

Rubber Mallett, what do you mean, I hide my face so you can't trust me? I don't understand.

What I said in regard to the pronunciation of TSO is actually correct, take it or leave it.
