I like it. Wished I'd given it to my kids all those years they missed out. Now, me and hubby together chillin, lovely. Some family times, great food, can't beat it. Makes winter bearable.

I do a lot of shopping on line. Amazon has all my addresses on file, and my cc info. It's great especially with the grandkids as the suggest toys by age. They even giftwrap. Then we take a day and go to an area with a historic downtown and good non chain shops and buy a few more smaller things for each person. This is fun shopping, for unique things. These places usually also have pretty lights and decorations too, so we enjoy that. Its not about the money, its that we enjoy buying things for our family. If I didn't enjoy it or couldn't afford it, I would just send cookies and call it good. I don't think the adult kids really care all that much about it, its really more for me. For our other family (siblings and parents) its food, plants or restuarant gift certificates, ordered online. We are all at that age where we don't need anymore things, but who doesn't like to eat?
Honesty though, I think a lot of ex-jw's forget that everyone else know's how to have fun, and they've had it ironed out of them.
True. I'll have to remember this!
Mr.Freeze and Jam -- you gave me some good laughs.
I did like all the cooking - fruitcake, spice mixes, cookies, roast and all the trimmings. But that just makes everyone fat.
I did sign up for the Christmas lunch held here at the old folk's home, on the soltice instead of christmas day. Not sure why, except that one of my little old lady neighbors whispered to me, "they give us PRESENTS." Dear old thing, I want to see what she gets.
