I've experienced some pretty horrible behavior on the part of hiring managers too. They should obtain and listen to Human Resource professionals to handle candidate relations.

Oops, I now see Band On The Run's comment. I guess idiocrity is equal opportunity between HR and hiring managers. I've had better luck with the former, personally.
