Alanis and why we love her...

    SYN,

I am one of the biggest alanis fans there is. I love her. Her music has spoke to me in so many ways. When I first bought JLP, I was angry at life and depressed and I lived for every word on that cd. I especially love Not the Doctor, because at that time in my life I was going around picking up the pieces for my mom, and I felt like her little doctor.

Then she came out with her former infatuation junkie cd, and I had started therapy and was beginning to heal, and her That I would be good touched me so deeply. Also would not come because I always felt like I was searching for something but it never came.

Then she came out with her unplugged album and the song These R the Thoughts. I found this song to be written for me, I felt like Alanis was in my brain when she wrote the song. Her new album under rug swept is very good as well. I haven't identified with it as much as in the past, but her music and lyrics are wonderful.

Thanks for this thread SYN. A man that loves Alanis is a friend of mine :)

I feel pretty much the same as you do about her, WonderWoman77! She's brilliant - in fact, she is probably one of the very small handful of real musicians left in this Britney Spears-loving world.

Under Rug Swept has the really nice single, Hands Clean, which I love, but the nicest track I've listened to so far is 'Flinch'. It's her at her best, for sure.
