    Oh, paleeease.

If the interviewed bozo is so easily swayed by no other piece of scientific work but the book "Life—How Did It Get Here? By Evolution or by Creation?", then I can't think highly enough of his credentials as a "scientist (end quote).

Look at the few gems he is supposedly saying:

"I was especially impressed with the research that goes into their publications. Solid research appeals to people like me, who want to probe into the details of things." Mmmmkay

" My sister gave me a copy of the book Life—How Did It Get Here? By Evolution or by Creation? published by the Witnesses. The careful research that had gone into this work impressed me." Careful research?! - Gimme a break!

" I was taught that life originated by means of evolution, and I accepted that as fact."This is supposedly when he was young, and IMO, deliberately thrown there in all its innacuracy to be contrasted with his current understanding, now that he is a scientist and a JW, that we must have a creator.

And many others. I started deconstructing the article yesterday only to quickly give up after realizing the amount of nonsense in it.

Reminds me of the old Nicholas Kip article in the Awake! many years ago.

    Love all the responses.

The use of university educated ones in Bethal and in Awake PR exercises is just another example of the double standards of the society. These ones are looked up to ("ooooo he's a lawyer and Bethal uses him to fight all the blood cases." grovel grovel fawn fawn lickity lick) yet they have to do their penance before hand either by having come in the truth after uni or having pioneered all the way through and licked enough arse on the way up.

It makes me sick that we are all to happy to use the dentist, doctor, solicitor, take the medicine developed by the chemist, reap the benefits of modern technology developed by engineers, read about the special attributes of "creation" discovered by the biologists etc. yet sideline any who wish to develop their potential as spiritually weak.

Acceptance of university education is at it lowest for years and it stinks.

Do they give the Scientist Jehovah Witness Name? Can we email him? No. Why because there is no such scientist that stupid to be used in such a way as to say these things about the bible.

But I'm not 100% certain more like 95% I suppose there are some branches of science where someone could still practice science and not be too crippled in research with the GB as his puppet masters.

In my entire life of being a a born in- I knew of only one- 1- mind you- witness who worked as a geologist.

1 out of the literally thousands of Witnesses I knew during my time inside.

Of course, he was educated before becoming a JW.

Some people did get all grovelly because they had never seen a bachelors degree or professional job before.

    Gross.

I am not sure how he did it, he was a kind but exceptionally passive, softspoken person.

Maybe some one should email him the WT article and see if he agrees with it.

I don't understand how any trained lawyer can be a JW. Yet they do exist and the power of WT Legal is clear. Being a scientist and a Witness must be so much harder. Lawyers are told to focus on text. The context of a statute must be considered. How do you do legal work all day and then, in a flash, use a reasoning style that is the complete opposite of what you learned in law school and continue in practice?

Indeed, I see in my own life how the legal training impacts my study of mainstream Christianity. I am very detail oriented. Law requires you to detach from your passions and evaluate both sides.

This scientists field does not appear to directly impact WT teachings. I could be wrong. I still wonder, though, how anyone trained in science can read the WT and not get sick.

It all boils down to being human. Law school training does not affect my personal triggers. I am not rational about them. Finding a cause, a home, a place where you belong is a strong force.

I want to state how much the WT quotes to outside scholars impressed me when I was young. Had I not received further training I would still think that almost all smart people believed the WT. The Awake impressed me. Unless you have the postsecondary education, how can you compare the WT to anything legitimate? Also, other churches do the very same thing. The Roman Catholic Church does it.

This raises serious questions for me b/c education is aligned with elitism. Not many people change classes in America as we would like to believe. I feel very fortunate that I had the exposure. One can see why denying postsecondary education would be important to them. I do wonder how they keep all these university educated Bethelites in line. We know they are the exceptions to the rule. I mentioned before that when slave revolts happened, and they were frequent, the house slaves were the leaders b/c they had the education. Slaves were entrusted with complex commercial deals. When they saw broader white society and not just the field work, their rage was greater. Once you add inner knowledge from working inside with literacy, you have people who were servile only on the outside surface.

I have yet to explain to an active Witness how secular sources are distorted. With my present experience, the WT both amuses and repels me. I can see myself still being loyal if I did have the exposure. I can't help think about eating from the tree of knowledge in Genesis.
