you can try denying as much as you want but sex is crucial for a healthy long lasting relationship. how can you expect to live with someone your whole life without knowing whether he or she fills your shoes or high heels. in my opinion its a no brainer, its a prerequisite and i couldnt have made a better dicision than choosing the best i ever had to walk through my life with.

cantleave- If they had met me privately, I would have told them to go and sin no more, and advise they speed up their plans to tie the knot. Their goal of coming to the elders was to restore their relationship with Jehovah and keep on serving him with a clean conscience, but the irony was what they met. They were sentenced to death spiritually. But, I still feel guilty though on a daily basis, that I'm still being used by the crooks in Brooklyn to facilitate this malicious activity. But what can I do, I have to be in for the family.

I know of a couple that was only privately reproved for a 3 year physical relationship. They never got married. Just broke up. Guess it depends on the elders and those involved.

joyful fader - you're right - it'a all politics!!! It's not even based on the scriptures. Sure, they're used to back up what the elders have already decided but two different sets of people who do the exact same thing will be judged differently by the same body of elders based on who they are, what position they have and sad to say...who their family is. As was the case when I was a kid. A person's relationship with God is just that...THEIR relationship with God; why the elders insert themselves in that is beyond me. I would see no reason to go to the elders for forgiveness but as DesirousOfChange says, ask forgiveness of God. Now if somebody else reports you well ???? You're just in hot water! Maybe consider getting a Christmas tree and converting to a Christian fellowship? :) lol

What goes on in the bedroom should stay there. Sharing any details of this pleasure in life with horny elders is disgraceful.

The elder who did our wedding talk set me down and asked if there were any reason why we couldn't have our wedding in a Kingdom Hall. I lied to him.

Most Pharisees are guilty of unreported pre-marital sex, and hypocritically judging others for the same.

The evil spirit inhabiting their hearts and minds has not changed the last 2,000 years.

So, for thousands of years, people got married alot younger. What would you say the old 'average' age was? 14, 15, 16, 17, 18? Now, we change the rules and are suddenly asking people to stay celebate until they are 22 to 25 years old and have babies at 28, 33, 38? I realize that Jesus did it (or rather didn't), but still! Is it reasonable to mess with thousands of years of human history? And, so, I see this whole 'apply' the Bible's sex to modern day as a problem, especially when we have birth control.

    10 percent abstain

20 percent confess or get caught

70 percent lie, and become elders and pioneers. These elders love to have JCs!

Skeeter, I have to speak up about an urban myth. Young marriages were common amongst gentry, where daughters were married off to increase status or seal deals. Not so for the common folk. Marriage was often postponed until the couple could afford to set up a household.

We see the same trend today. At least here in Canada, young people are holding off marriage until they are older, for very much the same reason. As a consequence, we are seeing a falling divorce rate as well.
