    Help needed pretty please.

Has any-one read this book "KEEP YOURSELF IN GOD'S LOVE" or got any critical notes on it?

Are there any big bloopers, contradictions, old light or anything I can discuss with him?

He has almost finished it and so far thinks Jehovah's Witnesses are the only true religion and is now considering baptism. I had never heard of it till yesterday and have just downloaded a copy.

Anything you can come up with would be great.

    Thank you

This is the recommended 'Study' book and was released in 2008.

There's some interesting stuff on p. 220-221 describing under what circumstances you can get a divorce.

    eg. Extreme Physical abuse

Quotes Gal 5:19-21 to back it up:

Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct,

Gal 5:20 idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects,

Gal 5:21 envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning YOU, the same way as I did forewarn YOU, that those who practice such things will not inherit God's kingdom.

Or Absolute Endangerment of Spiritual Life

Quotes Acts 5:29 to back it up:

Act 5:29 In answer Peter and the [other] apostles said: "We must obey God as ruler rather than men.

Trying to prove these from the scriptures would be fun.

P.153 talks about "keeping your wedding undefiled"

"Some customs that may appear innocent may have their roots in Babylonish practices" then condemns toasting, big receptions, throwing rice. No mention of marrying in white, veils, wedding rings, cutting the cake, as these pagan roots are overlooked for some reason.

There's the old light on the Slave (Mt 24:45) on p. 43 para 15.

The Slave are elevated to the level of the Bible on p.61 para 22 and p.105 para 16.

    Sorry, not too much.

Thanks guys it's a start for me.

We discussed blood last night as he said he was very confused by it and I had sent him the blood chart showing what coudn't be taken and the changes by year but said it might be best not to tell the person studying he was talking to me. He sent him the chart and the response back was that the chart was made by apostates!

the response back was that the chart was made by apostates!

Maybe that is your angle? The question ought to be whether the chart is accurate ?

If it is accurate truth, why do they want to stop him knowing it? What are they hiding????

He has almost finished it and so far thinks Jehovah's Witnesses are the only true religion

Maybe you should awaken him to the fact that every piece of literature written by the WTS. is going to support the acclamation that god

has chosen their organization alone and they are the only true religion, which is actually a proclamation made by every religious organization.

If you show how devious and corrupt this religious publishing house has conducted itself over the past century, he just might reconsider !

Been awhile since I read that one. It's basically an additional rule book. There's only so much to be gleaned from it, but I suppose I could look into it, though this is kind of a tricky situation. The study is clearly nearing the 'refreezing' stage of thought reform....it could be tough to get through to this person.

I agree with BluesBrother. Have him cling onto the chart and ask the study conductor to deconstruct the chart and point out the inaccuracies.

As a condition to baptism, that is.

Obviously the JW knows it by heart and can spot a fake a mile away. So, tell us, Big Shot, what is fake about this one?

Then, hang him by his own words and free your friend in the process....

It is the secondary book for studies (United in Worship was when I was going through indoctrination).

The initial indoctrination would have come through the "Bible Teach" book, so this one just puts the emphasis on Jehovah's Organization and the authority it has over a True Christian's life and the decisions they face.

Some of the articles showing the control are at the end of the book, to name a few ...

How to Treat a Disfellowshipped Person

    Blood Fractions and Surgical Procedures

    Gain the Victory Over Masturbation

"He sent him the chart and the response back was that the chart was made by apostates!"

So anyone who makes a chart of JW teachings is an apostate? I suppose the chart documenting the changes of "generation" teachings would also be apostate.

So that makes it official. Any WT publication that contains older teachings is now considered apostate. Which would include the Reasoning book in the collection of now apostate litterature.

It goes without saying that a chart listing the pedophile lawsuits against WT would also be apostate, eh?
