Funny how the rumor mill works here too. Everyone just assumes he got caught with his pants down. Jws like to gossip.
And the rampant speculation that he was DF'ed because he suddenly "saw the light" and "turned apostate" - that was solid fact based on well-researched evidence?
Look I'm on a completely different continent, there is 0% chance that I know the guy.
But easily 80%+ of JW disfellowshippings are for "porneia" - odds are this is another of those cases.
It would be cool and exciting if he "joined the dark side" -- I'm just saying it is highly unlikely.

We had a CO that was df'd after our congregation visit. He was knocking boots with some of the sisters. Apparently, his wife found a love letter
Was that possibly in the 1960s? We had a CO who showed up at our congregation and only stayed for 3 days of the visit.
He said he was "called back to his old circuit for a judicial meeting". I think the old circuit was in Missouri.
Turned out it was a judicial meeting on HIM - he had a sexcapade with a younger pioneer woman there, and she confessed after he got re-assigned.
Interestingly, they did not publicly announce him being DFd in our circuit - it was just told around by the servants to a few insiders.
We were not sorry to see him go - just the short taste we got of him made it pretty clear that he was a sarcastic, egotistic, nasty piece of work.

There was a DO in the UK who was DF'd back in the 60's or 70's. Name of Turnbull.
Doug Turnbull, remember him well and the incident itself. Didn't know he was back in.
It was a shock to everyone, he was a very nice guy; not long before the incident he was on a radio programme discussing the Bible with about a dozen clergymen. It was called 'Daniel in the lion's den'.

I wonder what it's like to serve on a judicial committee to fire and excommunicate your boss.

Usually "cases" with CO's or DO's are handled by Bethel heavies. I used to be one of them, and to add to my sad "career" (not proud of it), I was also part of the group of Bethel elders that got called for "special cases".
Anyway, your bets would be golden ...in all the cases where I had to sit through a JC with a CO it was always because of ...if you know what I mean.
I remember one "funny" case. He was mexican, absolutely and total serious type of guy. Some kind of Witness-Gestapo-man. Single, 40ish something. Then one day a pioneer sister comes to talk to us - single girl, 25 or something - big belly...no way to explain why her belly was growing by the minute! Once she dropped the name of the happy Papa, I almost peed my pants laughing (ok, had to go out to the toilets). Not being rude or something, but she was truly in love with him and they fit together like a silk gown on a donkey.
Funny moments.
Unlike some other JC that robbed my sleep...for years!

What was the name of the Black C.O. in the San Diego area who got caught in the hotel room by a JW in housecleaning with a hooker? 10+ years ago. Gosh..I forgot his name. He had served in Nor Cal at one time about 1990.
30 years ago one in AZ had sweet things tucked away in multiple congregations.
This would make a good thread.
