    according to Feb KM.

    ****************************************

We are happy to report three new all-time peaks during

themonth of August! The total number of publishers

increased to 523 in Bermuda, 332 in the Turks and

Caicos Islands, and 1,203,642 in the United States

    ********************

2011 reported 1,200,572. I don't think the "average" pubs will be much more of an increase. (Even as reported by WT 2013 yearbook.

I thought you meant actual pubs. That hurt.

Jehovah is blessing his organization with incremental growth (tiny increments)....

so this is only about 1/4 of 1%. I think a good sign, not for JWs.

Sweet! If I'm not mistaken, the "United States" numbers include all non-English congregations within the U.S. as well.

I'd love to see what the English-only stats are.

It will be interesting to see what figures they come up with next year 2013, & 2014(1914 100th year aniversary). This admission of failed predictions in the january WT by the Governing Body outa cause a big drop, but time will tell what doctored up report they will make to hide in thier delusional dream of serving the most high.

Excellent point. If they do still have growth in the non-English congregations, they must be having some pretty bad negative growth in the English ones.

Well here in Los Angeles, it's all about the non-English speaking congregations. What was once a typical scenario of 2-3 English congregations, and 1 foreign language congregation in a hall 20 years ago, has morphed into countless English congregations merging, only to be replaced by foreign language congregations. If not for the foreign langauge congregations, there would be a huge loss.

Huh. I wasn't expecting the growth rate to hit 0 for another 5 or 6 years.

Of course the "peak" number is not definitive, because it includes a few hundred thousand "late" reports of activity from some prior month(s). August, as the end of the service year, is when a lot of those reports come in (or are made up by frazzled secretaries, but that is a topic for another post).

It is however of moderate interest - either people are turning in their reports more closely to "on time" (less likely) or the average number of publishers has finally leveled off (more likely).

Jehovah is slowing down the work in his own time, making the thousand a little one!

I wonder how much the figures are getting cooked. It isn't like their numbers are getting any kind of an outside audit.
