    Lisa,

Well, so what if it's only mentioned once, how many times do you need to be told?

OK, I admit it, I'm joking.

A neat point and a nice post.

It's an intriguing point, ian't it?

What about the teachings where there are NO scriptures at all, like:

    1. Restrictions after re-instatement

    2. Judicial committees

    Etc, etc

    Cheers,
    Ozzie

How about demons possessing your mind based on the one scripture where Jesus says a house emptied and swept clean, then seven demons will come back (or something like that).

Then, the whole "neutrality" issue based on the one scripture "My kingdom is no part of this world."

Oh and then smoking being forbidden because of the one scripture: Cleanse yourself from every defilement of the flesh. If that's true, then why do they allow obese persons?

Also, gambling because of "Greedy persons will not inherit God's kingdom."

True Christians in the 1st century live off the same scriptures that we have today

    Really, Fred?

What about Jude 8-13? To what scriptures was Jude referring when he spoke of Michael the Archangel and the Devil having a dispute?

His audience must have been very familiar with what he was saying...was it is some text that doesn't appear in your bible?

    <hint, hint>

    Lisa -

    Great post and intriging point!

But you forgot -- "Truly I say to you by no means shall this generation pass away until all these things occurred."

    Hey Fred --

Right on my brother! Absolutely right! Like the First Century Chirstians, JWs today have Matthew 24:36:

"Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels in the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.

BTW: Lisa, I'm not ignoring you -- just been busy with work, school, and trying to eek out a social life too.

    No1,

LOL--Perhaps instead of "eeking" out a social life you should try to "eke" it out! LOL!

    Hi LDH

Sorry for posting this a day late but I just didn't have time to post yesterday.

Anyway, all good witnesses know that there are only two birthdays mentioned in the bible, right?

    Wrong!!

The WTBTS ignores the birth of Christ!!!

    As stated at Luke 2:10,11,13,14:
And the angel said to them, Don't be afraid for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people: for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior , who is Christ the Lord...And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on the earth peace among men with whom he is pleased.

The angels celebrated the birth of Christ in song and glory!!

    Lisa and Blindfool,

One more to add: "And his sons went and held a banquet at the house of each one on his own day; and they sent and invited their three sisters to eat and drink with them." - Job 1:4 (NWT)

    Cheers,
    Ozzie
