Not sure of the point of your last post, dear Wha (again, peace to you!). Could be it's your response (quoting my comment rather than another). But you already responded above ("we have no secrets"), so I'm not sure. Can you clarify, please?

Thanks and, again, peace to you!

In families with an oriental lady, the oriental lady runs the finances.

The man has an allowance with which he can do as he pleases, but all major finance is run by the lady.

Used to early in our marriage when I was working. Don't anymore since becoming a stay at home mom. We run a tight ship on the budgeting side, don't even have credit cards.

VERY interesting, dear JW (peace to you!)... and sounds like a GREAT idea to ME! LOLOLOL! I think, though, that Oriental women, in general, are more concerned with the future (theirs and husbands old age, as well as inheritance for children/eldest (son))... than many in the western world (we like to shop - LOL!). I could be wrong, but my observations show me that.

Sounds like you were one of those who ascribed to the "What's mine is mine... and what's your's is mine!" school of thinking, dear Miz Josie (peace!) - LOLOL! And now, well, "What's our's is our's 'cause we really gotta keep an eye on ALL of it, now!" LOLOL! Been there (the latter), girl, and so hear you!

Thanks, both, and again peace to you!

Actually it's still what's yours is mine. But it goes both ways.

    No secrets

we earn our own money, have a common bills account that we put a set amount in each week. Once we have paid our share our money is our money to do whatever we like with.

To me, nothing worse than a wife who has to ask permission to buy a dress or a guy who has to get permission to his shit either. I can understand to a piont if either is 'kept' by the other financially, then there has to be some expectation of trust with his/her hard earned dollars.

These women who lie about their purchases and try to pull one over the husband are IMO selfish gold digging bitches.

Well, shoot, whyn't you tell us how you really feel about them, dear Aussie (peace to you!) - LOLOLOL! To be fair, though, they COULD be married to penny-pinching, nickle-rubbing, tightwads. I mean, I'm jus' sayin'...

And yeah, I know what you mean, Miz J (peace and wink back!).

    Peace!

I never hide from my husband what is spent, but I do hide what we save. That man does not believe in saving for a rainy day.

Currently hubby likes me to handle our joint funds, which I hate doing but if it makes him happy, then ok. We have a standing joke, if I buy clothing or something for me I round down ... Then we play guessing games as to my discrepancies. Of course if it's something for him, I round up! I tell him it is all in the Women's Rule Book which is like law, written in blood. He asks to view this book but I have to tell him it is highly secret and reading it could mean I have to murder him with poisoned mushrooms lol.
