There are about twice as many former/inactive JWs as active

When I was in around 2005 the last count at the memorial was 13m, counting the 6.5m active witnesses*.
There always seemed double the amount of active JW's that came to the memorial.

They used to count total memorial attendance as an indication of "potential" members. I think we all know that is just plain silly and meaningless.
JW's "churn" like high schools kids working at McDonalds.

Jehovah`s Witnesses deride others who claim to be christian and only attend church, either at weddings , easter or xmass .
However they blow their trumpet loud and clear showing how many attended the memorial service each year , which is usually 3 times as many active witnesses , so 2 out of 3 people only attend a kingdom hall once in twelve months .

Welcome.
Interesting presentation of statistics from recent years, while not total as asked for, gives a glimpse into the issue.
