On second thought, looking at how the Chile report shows the average to be 72,420 but the peak to be 69,795, it would appear that everyone in Writing and Service Departments who had any math skills got sent back to "the field" a long time ago. That's what happens when you condemn education.
I'm 99.9% certain this is down to human error. The Chile figures clearly demonstrate that there has been problems with data input elsewhere on the report. However, your insight into the amount of checking they do is priceless. This demonstrates that, not only was the guy who put the report together not being "blessed" in his work, but whoever was responsible for checking HIS work didn't have their eye on the ball either. Bear in mind they had weeks or even months to get this right, and the report has unraveled on this forum within a couple of days of close scrutiny. And all this despite the Society promising in the 2011 Yearbook that everything they write is accurate, "even in seemingly insignificant details."
The blunders in this report prove that the numbers can't be relied upon or trusted as accurate, much like Watchtower publications in general. One mistake in a report of this kind throws each and every number into doubt.
