Yes its true.. it has been mentioned off the platform and in the KM that if you are d to d witnessing and a woman answers the door, we are to ask if the man of the house is home, and then if he does come to the door, and you speak with him and it looks like an RV, then you are to turn the call over to a brother to follow up, a sister can not make the follow up call...

In no way would I ask a woman that question, sexist or what? I dont think she would like being passed over for her man/hubby/partner. etc..

Cedars, I think what may have happened with Poland is they've all come to the UK. There's been new Polish congregations/groups here.

Just speculating on the Poland decrease, but I know for certain that Writing double and triple checks the numbers that they receive and publish. From what I know from the past, is that when countries would be given special attention, like for the yearbook reports, there would suddenly be a decrease from the previous years.

I don't have my old yearbooks with me, so I can't remember the particular examples. But I did see it happen that a country that was featured with their history in the yearbook, also would report a decrease that year, or before, or after. The congregations and branches had "evidently" been inflating the numbers, but couldn't keep up the lie when zone visits or Writing Dept actually come for an accounting.

This yearbook also features the list of branches that were closed. They claim how it's for efficiency and puts more preachers in the field. Now that's p!s$ing on people and telling them it's raining gold.

In California the only "Growth" I have seen is in sign language and foreign language congregations. A lot of the attendees ALSO speak english and transfer from an english congregation. A few places where a "new town" was created a new hall is built.

"Musical Chairs" is a good description.

If WTBTS can combine congregations and use FEWER buildings, they will have more Real Estate to cash-out and $$$ to get off-shore BEFORE the coming tidal wave of post-Conti Pedophile cases hit the court docets in 2013 and 2014. (SATAN'S DOING of course).

With probably 30% of JWs getting in minimum time, making few donations, and simply "wearing out the carpets" they would probably prefer to have more empty halls to sell.

Any decrease they would simply spin to say THE END IS CLOSER!!!!!!! THE " LOVE OF THE GREATER NUMBER HAS COOLED OFF!!!!"

GIVE US MORE $$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!! DONATE$$$$$ OBEY!!!!!

On second thought, looking at how the Chile report shows the average to be 72,420 but the peak to be 69,795, it would appear that everyone in Writing and Service Departments who had any math skills got sent back to "the field" a long time ago. That's what happens when you condemn education.

    Interesting news.

Japan used to talked about all the time as having the highest proportion of pioneers. It used to be held up as an example for pioneering. That all went away long before the tsunamis and quakes hit. You'ld think those disasters would spur on jwism.

I think Truthlovers first post on this thread is a good analysis of what is happening within Congregations, causing the need to combine congregations, and therefore less need for K.H's.

In my own area a large congo. split for a few years, in the end the C.O recombined it, at the same time he abolished a Congo altogether, subsequently there was not a Congo in that small town , where one had been for over sixty years.

All signs that the WT/JW movement is moribund.

I'm 99.9% certain this is down to human error. The Chile figures clearly demonstrate that there has been problems with data input elsewhere on the report. However, your insight into the amount of checking they do is priceless. This demonstrates that, not only was the guy who put the report together not being "blessed" in his work, but whoever was responsible for checking HIS work didn't have their eye on the ball either. Bear in mind they had weeks or even months to get this right, and the report has unraveled on this forum within a couple of days of close scrutiny. And all this despite the Society promising in the 2011 Yearbook that everything they write is accurate, "even in seemingly insignificant details."

The blunders in this report prove that the numbers can't be relied upon or trusted as accurate, much like Watchtower publications in general. One mistake in a report of this kind throws each and every number into doubt.
