Why has the WT not tried to shut down this board? (page 7)

This site is very powerful and the if it was possible to shut it down it would have happened years ago.

The idiots that shut down Kim and Mike's website have no idea what they are dealing with. It will only spur them along with twice as much conviction. They are doing a tremendous job and to see it being shut down goes to show the great effect they are having.

The WTBTS has worked years and years and court case after court case for religious freedom. Who knows to whom they've also bent over backwards to get their rights but when it comes to others they have no respect.

There is a site, I won't mention the name. I was on if for a long time...alot of mud throwing. There were Witnesses, non-witnesses, & x-witnesses on that site. If you would dare ask the witness a question they would come at you like a rabid dog. They are always arguing...I was told I shouldn't be on the site, but I then came back to them & said, neither are they. Come to find out they were on the site making time. They used the site to get hours. They even admitted it. They used to argue back and forth with commenters, non-witnesses, witnesses who faded out & knew about the Society.

It was so funny because that's what I thought. They were making up their hours by being on this site. Brilliant...

The WT, can't nor won't shut down this site, how else would they find out the truth. Or what's the latest folks are not believing...I think they make adjustments from reading this site....If they did shut it down, it would look suspicious...folks would want to know why.....what would they be afraid of. If they have the ultimate truth, they shouldn't care about any JW website. But they know they don't & so do we.

Where God wants his truth to be known there are no barriers, not even the WTBTS can fight against his will.

To answer a few points raised:

There have never been and will never be any backroom deals to handover personal information in order to avoid legal action. I would delete everything rather than allow the WTS to access it.

There have been legal issues with the site - usually this has been to do with copyrighted material being posted wholesale rather than snippets for discussion. It's important to remain legal to avoid having the site shutdown because no one realistically has the resources to fight a well-funded organization like the WTS so the best option is to not give them an opportunity to take legal action.

Generally, we're covered by free-speech rules so the WTS cannot touch us for expressing our opinions and reporting on events. We always need to be careful thought to make sure that we act responsibly in order to ensure the site remains available.
