What the title says. Do you think the WTS doctrine that says that Christ was made King in 1914 is about to change? If you think that's being orchestrated and prepared, do you see signs of that already? Go ahead, lets get a list going.

Sure, EdenOne. They changed the 'generation' to overlapping. The anointed are no longer the FDS- just the 8 GB, and discarded Russell at the same time. It's going on 99 years since 1914 and with 1 year left and lots of JW's in expectation of 2014, yeah why not change it. It's gonna take several years to finish building their upstate NY retirement home- ( I think it was a 5 year projection), so yeah.

I'd never say never but it's been a major part of critical doctrine for so long I really can't see an easy reversal. The new F&DS understanding still shows that Jesus inspected in 1919 and I suspect that they can only justify this on the basis of the end of the gentile times etc. There is so much that would need changing I can't see it happening. But then again I am not the one trying to maintain a crumbling cult...

Why would they need to change anything having to do with 1914? They have the overlapping generation doctrine which covers them. They should be able to keep 1914 for decades, right?

With the new understanding of the fds, they tied themselfes strongly at 1919. And without 1914 no 1919. So, if they change 1914 they have also to come up with a new date for the fds beeing appointed as spiritual fast-food cooks.

1914 is the lifeblood and the DNA of the religion.
It is their shining trophy in the case, proudly pointed to as proof positive of God's enlightenment on them.
My feeling is that the organization will hold on to 1914, since it would send shockwaves through the organization to do an about face. I think it would have more implications than 1975, since its such a foundational teaching.......IMO.......
I do however anticipate much less emphasis on the "details" behind the date - even now, how many JW's could sit down with someone and logically explain it? Instead of detailed articles regarding the date, the last few years I was an elder I did notice less "detail" on it in talk outlines and literature.....it was mentioned, but in brief sentences, stated in a matter-of-fact fashion.
I anticipate this trend to continue - it will remain, but de-emphasised more and more.......Its funny, they seem to be pushing Charlie T more and more in the background, but at the same time they put out that stupid "faith in action" video and also have some "From Our Archives" articles lately in the WT. I would think they would want to bury their history, but I'm glad they are doing it - it opens opportunities to "Witness" to my family about the truth behind the organization.

Seriously doubt it, but because it will start to cause "murmerings", or as normal people call it, "discussions", we will be told not to speculate or run ahead - just wait patiently.
Rather than bring out some fanciful new prediction in order to build up anticipation of the end, I think stronger directives about how loyal & obedient we should all be to the Org will become more and more common.
The revelations coming through the Internet are going to cause even greater damage than what we've seen so far.

That's already the case; I doubt whether one newbie JW in 20 can negotiate the entire process of "year-for-a-day," "seven times," "time, times and half a time" etc. etc. in attempting an explanation of how one gets to 607 BCE to 1914.
