    Just a guess but i somehow doubt simple lasers would get thru the atmosphere.

    Forget cowboys launched from the shuttle to buckle nuclear warheads on nasty asteroids headed for earth. We need some of those nasty-ass lasers on the moon!

    I think it could be entirely possible but it would cause the moon to melt because it's made of cheese. This would create a kind of intergalatic "fondu pot" if you will, thus drawing aliens from around the universe to partake because, hey, who doesn't love some great fondu?

    Well, maybe not the Klingons... they love gak.
