    We all have one.

For me its the District Conventions. Not bragging in anyway, but I was born-into a family of 'Higher ups' im talking CO's and ZO's....

and there is a room that they set up in the conventions/stadiums called the "Chairmans Office"

I always have access to these rooms, because Im usually with one of my higher up family members who give talks and all that other crap.

Anyways, while everyone in the convention is sitting in the sun, eating a slimy, soggy bolognia sandwich, the chairmans office is air conditioned, has a variety of chilled beverages, 'coke, pepsi, diet coke, gatorade, dasani water bottles,' not to mention the 'danishes, sandwich triangles, cookies, cakes, muffins, fresh coffee, and for lunch, pizza, salads, pastas, and lasagna'

after you enter the private elevator where an attendent asks you your name, (to make sure your a higher up) then he lets you in and takes you down to a sweet-ass room

they have leather couches in their, recliners, private rooms to 'practice your part' and all sorts of fancy stuff..

AND NOONE in there is listening to the convention, all the higher ups are their laughing and talking about their lives and children, and what a good deal they got at walmart, and all that crap. Its just a social room

Im not going to lie, its nice going in their and using the facilities, but it shows how they favor the higher ups and im sure its all at the 'Donation Boxes' dime"

oh yeah, and theirs a security guard/ attendent guy who blocks the door so only the higher ups can enter. So rude.

Anyways whats your biggest pet peeve?

Their claim to be the exclusive agent of God. The spurious assertion that everyone is so evil and will be destroyed. The control that flows from these beleifs. Combined with the WTBTS, the willigness of grown women and men to not question. Something is wrong with society at large that so many people are attracted to groups that will not tolerate any dissent.

I didn't like how the same rules didn't apply to everyone. If your dad was an elder or you gave a lot of money you could get away with anything. I also hated how women were treated as second class citizens.

That women can't wear pants to the meetings. And the fact that women are second class citizens. Oh yeah and the different rules for dirfferent people to be disfellowshipped! Depends on how rich you might be if you don't get DF'd.

I wanted to "in and out" and "in and out" and "in...." you get the idea, with the man I loved, so bad. Just natural behavior from the Creator of Life. Right? lol But

I never did. I did not want to displease God.

When I read that "Judge" Rutherford did the "in and out" as many times as he desired, with whom ever he desired, for years, but not with his wife, and all the

time he was the self proclaimed Pope, President of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, no disfellowshipping , no committee meeting, no embaressment , no

loss of Friends for him, I lost it. That was the final straw. Ones love, ones Youth, cannot be repeated. When it is gone, it is gone. I called this active Elder, love of my youth, this past Spring, when I was going thru such horrendous mental and emotional turmoil and strain. I left a message. He didn't return my call.

Leaving aside all the doctrinal issues it would have to be the control factor.

Grooming laws... no long hair, no facial hair, no individual style of any kind. For sisters, no pants, no short skirts, panty hose required, no short hair (men style).

Entertainment laws... no R-rated movies, no 'debasing' music, no trendy books or magazines.

    On and on they went.

And for the sticklers out there, yes, there were no actual rules or laws that forbade those things, just elder counsel and peer pressure. But they were unspoken laws nonetheless. Try wearing a beard to the KH for a talk and see what reaction you get. I did... It was as if Satan himself came to give the part. Try wearing your hair long, over your collar. Count the elders that want to speak with you after the meeting. Sisters - wear a skirt that comes up over your knee, or maybe a slit, or maybe an undone button on your blouse.

Leave a heavy metal or rap CD laying around your car when it's your turn to drive in service.

Leave R-rated movied laying around on Book Study night.

See how long before you're 'counseled'.

    Laws? Yes, indeed.
