I HAVE NEVER MET A JW WHO WAS NOT HAPPY...

Emotionally healthy people have ups and downs and can openly admit it when they are unhappy.

By contrast, think of the pressure on JWs to be happy all the time.

To admit you are not happy as a JW is "to bring reproach on Jehovah and his organization," which in the WT world is the worst sin imaginable.

Even admitting unhappiness to oneself often triggers feelings of guilt in a JW.

One of the best aspects of JWN is that we can be genuine.

Ding, excellent point. When you're a Dub and feel bad, you feel bad that you feel bad ... and so the downward spiral begins ...

"Jehovah's people are the happiest people on Earth...

    ...but I'm not happy...

...maybe I'm becoming weak in The Truth...

...I don't want to be seen as weak...

...so I'll put in more hours and auxiliary pioneer this month!"

    See how it works?

Omg, you can't even be stressed!.

An elderette cornered me at the hall a few yrs back when I was still in,

and tried to get me to 'spill' some information. I did admit that I was

    "so stressed!"

Well, guess what next "Needs" talk was about ....yes, being stressed is

not trusting jah & not doing enough!

    A hearty warm welcome OneStepOut93!

There are many threads here with advice on how to help someone see (discern) the light and or the dark.

You could also read ISOCF (the light) and then COC (the dark) for more ideas (both written by ex GB member, the late Raymond Franz).

    Recurring advice is:

    • take it slow
    • ask open ended questions
    • explore the Watchtower's "rich spiritual heritage" (history) in older publications (such as those promoting pyramidology or strange scriptural interpretations)

(Why do followers of the Watchtower religion call themselves “publishers of the Good News” whilst unfamiliar with the “Good News” according to Paul, Moses, Isaiah and Psalms?)

Billy: I am a female, I am NOT interested in my friend like that, I don't swing that way. xD I just care for her like a sister.

Thanks for the advice everyone. :) I love reading all your posts.
