This should come as no surprise if what I have read on here in the past is correct
This is exactly the same as the scheme they play at the assemblies. Early on they declare a deficit and ask for contributions to cover the costs so that there will not be a shortfall. The figures for expenditure are never forthcoming.
With this scheme, the GB are simply escalating this to a much grander scale. They project that this fiscal year there will be a deficit. No figures are forthcoming. They need more money to prevent a shortfall.
It's worked for years and years, elders go along with it without question and all the sheepies contribute more.
With all they're different financial structures it is likely one of them will have a shortfall/deficit, especially if they simply transfer amounts to another structure. As normal, they are so short of details and the sheepie's don't ask.

*** watchtower 71 8/15 p. 505 How Religious Expenses Are Met ***ALL religions are pretty much the same.” Have you heard people say that? True, most religions share many things in common. But not all religions do. To appreciate just how great the difference can be, consider the matter of how religious expenses are met....
Certain clergymen in the New York area are very businesslike about the matter... And one Congregational preacher in Vermont was reported in the press as having installed a credit-card machine inside the front door for those who would prefer to contribute by this means...There are also the professional fund raisers for special purposes, such as the renovating or the building of church structures. As the book The Church as Employer, Money Raiser and Investor says, “The work of helping churches raise money has become a specialized job.
Note, too, that they all have a basic similarity. Rather than encourage spontaneous giving, they employ pressure, subtle or otherwise, and even appeal to selfishness. -

The May WT Broadcasting Video is exactly that.....1 1/2 hour fund raising video. What backsliding bigots!

I made it all the way to 50 minutes last night. I then had to do a proper cleanse by putting on my old stand by movie "Religulous"
A lot of similarities between Lett and Ken Ham

Has anyone wondered why the GB has "forgiven" our debts on the "loans" that we took from our shared "voluntary donations?" Have you wondered why they have "forgiven" our debts, but asked the Eldubs to make sure the same $$$ amount is "voluntarily" donated? Why the,"voluntary pledge" that NEVER ends??
Its simple. They want money, but they can't continue to make "loans" or it will eventually ( it may already be more serious than we know ) have their "charitable status" questioned.
LOESCH has already specifically mentioned "charity" in a RC talk. If you were awake to TTATT, it came out of nowhere. It was almost as if they had to have the word "charity" on record. We all know they don't do "charity."
So how can a corporation like the WTBTS continue to earn a similar income without making "loans" that need to be "forgiven?" How can they make a preemptive strike to ward off the financial drain of PEDO cases and how can they show "positive efforts" towards reform as regards their "charitable status?"
You just watched the 1 1/2 hour answer.
