TheStar,
Thanks for the full quote. I hope you enjoy your time away. At least I hope it's for pleasure or relaxation.
Hi Jst2laws,
Opps, this is Jst2laws, I didn't notice I was useing Joy2bfree's registry. Oh Well!
That's ok.
give Joy2bf a hello from me, won't ya?
I used to marvel at how the WT was harmonious and without contradicting statements. The contradictions were there, but dubs are blinded to them.
That is SOOO true. And the ones who do see the contradictions and say something about it are told to "Be careful who you tell that to." Because those who have questions about ANY of the many contradictions are suddenly viewed with suspicion as if they were motivated by evil for asking. that's how the org looses very intelligent, thinking, people.
Just have to step back and look at it with an open mind, and it helps for each to contribute a little research as you have on this one.
Believe it or not, I wasn't researching that ( the blood issue) subject when I came across it. I was researching a statement in the 12/1/98 Watchtower ( I cringe when I capitalize that word!). Here is what I was researching. ....." At times, Jehovah's Witnesses have been the target of distorted information in the media. For example, on August 1, 1997, a Russian newspaper published a slanderous article claiming, among other things, that Witnesses categorically require members to 'reject their wives, husbands, and parents if these do not understand and do not share their faith.' Anyone who is truly acquainted with Jehovah's Witnesses knows that the charge is false. The Bible indicates that Christians are to treat unbelieving family members with love and respect, and Witnesses endeavor to follow that direction."
I KNOW too many people who WERE and ARE rejected for simply "not sharing their faith". And I know because I'm one of them who never got to know my "unbelieving relatives" because of the BS that a PRINTING FACTORY published. Who are they trying to kid? ! The answer is, the unsuspecting public. Potential converts. the sneaky basturds! I'm getting carried away now. it just irks the heck out of me to see LIES published in the mags that they distribute to the public. I know plenty of people who reject their no-JW parents, mates, and children, and vice;versa for being "unbelieving relatives". Anyhoo...that's for another time I suppose.
D8TA,
For the challenged:"We the WTBTS, have been FALSELY ACCUSED of selling red balloons! We are being persecuted! Sob. Sob. Sob." -WTBTS 98now we have:"We the WTBTS, SELL thousands and thousands of red balloons and are PROUD OF IT! We are sooo great aren't we? Woot!"
Exactly! It's sickening to see the wbts puff up their own pride by using the deaths of children. Imagine if they had printed an article with the pictures of people who died because of not accepting organ transplants in the early 80's. And quoting that there were THOUSANDS of them and that they gave their lives for God?
I wish they were only selling red balloons. Their crying persecution and of being "targets of false accusations, barefaced lies, and twisted presentations of their beliefs" would be a lot easier to swallow if they had been. great example though. You saw what I saw.
peace,
somebody
