    12/1/98 WT Defending Our faith

"Jehovah's Witness have been targets of false accusations--barefaced lies and twisted presentations of their beliefs......The accusation that numerous children of Jehovah's Witnesses die each year as a result of refusing blood transfusions is totally unfounded."

    Now....

From the 5/22/94 AWAKE! The one with all the JW children who died on the cover of it. this was published 4 years before the above watchtower article told about false accusations made about JWs

"In former times thousands of youths died for putting God first. They are still doing it, only today the drama is played out in hospitals and courtrooms, with blood transfusions the issue."

I can already hear what word games the wbts would play if they were asked to explain.

Edited for the error of the date of what WT the first quote was taken from. It is not 12/15/98. It's 12/1/98. My apoligy to anyone who looked it up and couldn't find it.

Thanks Somebody. There is another sentence inbetween the two I have on my sig. I couldn't put it in because of the word max on the sigs.

    The full quote is:

"We would not refuse to treat one as a brother because he did not believe the Society is the Lord's channel. If others see it in a different way, that is their privilege. There should be full liberty of conscience." -- WT April 1, 1920, p. 100, 101.

Have a great weekend, I'll be gone for 3days and 4 nights...

Opps, this is Jst2laws, I didn't notice I was useing Joy2bfree's registry. Oh Well!

    Somebody,

Excellent expose of contradiction. I used to marvel at how the WT was harmonious and without contradicting statements. The contradictions were there, but dubs are blinded to them. Just have to step back and look at it with an open mind, and it helps for each to contribute a little research as you have on this one. Thanks.

That is a great signature! Is there anyone who can get a photo copy of that WT or a PDF? I would love to pass that on to my Jdub friends.
Wish I had it for the memorial tonight.

    For the challenged:

"We the WTBTS, have been FALSELY ACCUSED of selling red balloons! We are being persecuted! Sob. Sob. Sob." -WTBTS 98

    now we have:

"We the WTBTS, SELL thousands and thousands of red balloons and are PROUD OF IT! We are sooo great aren't we? Woot!"-WTBTS 94

Dont supress that thought! Keep it there! It's okay to question another HUMAN! You're NOT questioning God or the Bible!

    :)

    TheStar,

Thanks for the full quote. I hope you enjoy your time away. At least I hope it's for pleasure or relaxation.

    Hi Jst2laws,

Opps, this is Jst2laws, I didn't notice I was useing Joy2bfree's registry. Oh Well!
That's ok. give Joy2bf a hello from me, won't ya?

I used to marvel at how the WT was harmonious and without contradicting statements. The contradictions were there, but dubs are blinded to them.
That is SOOO true. And the ones who do see the contradictions and say something about it are told to "Be careful who you tell that to." Because those who have questions about ANY of the many contradictions are suddenly viewed with suspicion as if they were motivated by evil for asking. that's how the org looses very intelligent, thinking, people.

Just have to step back and look at it with an open mind, and it helps for each to contribute a little research as you have on this one.
Believe it or not, I wasn't researching that ( the blood issue) subject when I came across it. I was researching a statement in the 12/1/98 Watchtower ( I cringe when I capitalize that word!). Here is what I was researching. ....." At times, Jehovah's Witnesses have been the target of distorted information in the media. For example, on August 1, 1997, a Russian newspaper published a slanderous article claiming, among other things, that Witnesses categorically require members to 'reject their wives, husbands, and parents if these do not understand and do not share their faith.' Anyone who is truly acquainted with Jehovah's Witnesses knows that the charge is false. The Bible indicates that Christians are to treat unbelieving family members with love and respect, and Witnesses endeavor to follow that direction."

I KNOW too many people who WERE and ARE rejected for simply "not sharing their faith". And I know because I'm one of them who never got to know my "unbelieving relatives" because of the BS that a PRINTING FACTORY published. Who are they trying to kid? ! The answer is, the unsuspecting public. Potential converts. the sneaky basturds! I'm getting carried away now. it just irks the heck out of me to see LIES published in the mags that they distribute to the public. I know plenty of people who reject their no-JW parents, mates, and children, and vice;versa for being "unbelieving relatives". Anyhoo...that's for another time I suppose.

    D8TA,

For the challenged:"We the WTBTS, have been FALSELY ACCUSED of selling red balloons! We are being persecuted! Sob. Sob. Sob." -WTBTS 98

now we have:"We the WTBTS, SELL thousands and thousands of red balloons and are PROUD OF IT! We are sooo great aren't we? Woot!"

Exactly! It's sickening to see the wbts puff up their own pride by using the deaths of children. Imagine if they had printed an article with the pictures of people who died because of not accepting organ transplants in the early 80's. And quoting that there were THOUSANDS of them and that they gave their lives for God?

I wish they were only selling red balloons. Their crying persecution and of being "targets of false accusations, barefaced lies, and twisted presentations of their beliefs" would be a lot easier to swallow if they had been. great example though. You saw what I saw.

Thanks for this beautiful and succinct post.

    hi Lisa,

I hear ya on wanting to just spit! I get just as upset.

How are you doing with your Dad? I hope you can someday remain calm when you discuss the borg with him. I never gave you any advice because I have the same problem with my dad and my reaction is the SAME as yours when we start talking about it. I'm much more fortunate thiough , in the way that my dad has not attended a meeting in over 20 years. He'll still defend the "true religion" though... and it bothers me very much. I don't want him going to his grave believing all the BS! I really do get frustrated as you do with your dad when I talk to mine. Therefore, I could not give you any advise there. Besides "hey! don'tcha just wanna smack him upside the head!!". And that is NOT good advice! I DO understand your frustration.

    peace,
    somebody
