Back and forth from NYC to Paris is ~$400 for the flight, staying in Paris is about $100/night

obviously air fares can be through the roof traveling from the states to Europe. However, tickets purchased in advance are fairly reasonable. I see no reason why the trip described cost 10k. Especially since the majority of the time spent will be at the assembly. Cold meals included.
Is it a secret money maker. Well what isn't with that org?
