The Society have had a big push this year to get as many inactive ones at the memorial as they can. Obviously the figure is going to be used as propaganda to pacify an increasingly awakening rank and file. They are coming out of their trance because the old 'drugs' of fear and guilt are losing their effect and many are realising that the big 'A' isn't coming to save their sorry asses.
At my congregation there are about 100 pubs and they had an attendance of 150 last night.

years ago (okie, decades ago!!!) we used to call the "only come to the memorial" attenders --- "memorial saints"!!
in my first cong. we even had some who had been 'bible students' in russel's day.

you layed it out nicely ---- looking at just your family alone the numbers are huge- esp in terms of possible attendees
Usually we have around 350 in attendance. Attendance was right at 270.

I haven't heard yet. The past three years our memorial has been held at Hotels. This year they had it at the Sheraton in two sessions. Don't know how many congs. I think maybe three each.Could be less.
Yes, attendance was down in the hall we went to, also. We arrived way too early. This was the first year the hall shared with a dance studio, there was dancers still rehearsing their number. We were all laughing because all what you could hear was "Hey, Big Spender...." being played over and over again. It was such a wierd and funny moment!
