A friend call me in 2009 to tell me... I could get reinstated now and it was a easier.. and what had happened to me was wrong.. that I should look into it
thats why I'm here.. this why they don't want members encouraging DF"d ones... they might take a closer look and become apostates..
From the time I faded to when I was DFd for "apostasy" was a period of about 14 months. During that time, I received 0 visits and 1 phone call. The phone call was from an over zealous and pushy MS who is desperately "reaching out" for eldership. I did not answer so he left a message. It started out ok. He told me he hadnt seen me in a while and missed me. Then proceeded to ask why I wasn't attending anymore. Was it something he did? Am I mad at Jehovah? Then he said and I quote....."I just don't understand how anyone can turn their back on Jehovah like that. It is obvious that things aren't right inside your head. If there's any way I can help you please let me know."
I felt so warm and fuzzy from the "love" he displayed.
I get visits when the elders get letters about me from the Society.
When I left just over two yrs ago, three elders telephoned me, very briefly, on separate occasions and asked me if there was anything they could do. I said no, I am not ever coming back. I haven't heard a peep since.
phone call, last month - not because I was ill, but wanted my time - no asking how I was - that was my spiritual visit.. no shepherding calls as I refused the last 2 requests - had things to do
during time of sickness - only my friends who knew I was ill called or asked if I needed help
I still talk to some occasionally. They never visit or want to hang out. I always offer to go out for a beer or two but they always come up with some excuse. Overall, I don't think they want anything to do with me.
3 years and 9 months just before a move across country no one from our last cong. knows where we disappeared to. He was a former elder who was always kind and loving but I suspect it is why he is a Former Elder.
