Sorry I took a while to get back this post, work has been nuts.

WTWizard, I've learned that YHVH, or Yod-He-Vau-He represents the elements as well. The more I research the history surrounding the bible, the more I come to learn that it is all allegorical. The whole OT is Kabalistic, Tree of Life as one example and there are so many stories that have been taken from the orientals it's quite fascinating how Christianity is just another borrowed religion twisted by men of authority to control and subjegate the lower castes of humanity.

I am trying to see when I can work this article into a conversation with my family that are still in, but I think that might blow my fade wide open.

A god was named Yahweh. Although we're not 100% sure how it was pronounced, Jehovah is certainly the misguided and wrong pronunciation established in the Medieval period when one tries to pronounce the Tetragrammaton, THWH, with the massoretic vowels underneath which properly belong to the word adonai, 'lord.'

Whether El Shaddai and Yahweh were the same or different deities, check this interesting post out http://contradictionsinthebible.com/are-yahweh-and-el-the-same-god/

God did not reveal his name to Adam and Eve even before they transgressed all that Adam said when he saw Eve eating the fruit was Oh God!

I thought he said that when he saw Eve was naked

It intrigued me years ago when I was active that the" Aid" book acknowledged that "Jehovah "may not be the exact correct pronunciation of Gods name ,but that was the most popular recognisable name for God in modern day usage. Excuse me ? when did JW`s ever go along with the popular veiw of the world ,let alone christendoms religions , especially when it was a catholic monk of the 13th century who first coined the name Jehovah using the tetragrammaton letters of hebrew angliszing them to read JHVH and giving them vowels to read jehovah. (Ancient hebrew never had a J sounding consonant ) that is why some bible translations substitute y for j when reffering to jeremiah or jacob etc. More accurately YHWH

So the bottom line is, Jehovahs Witnesses are perfectly content to publicise a wrong interpretation of the name of God world wide , and to do so for over a hundred years . WOW. And the amazing thing is it doesn`t seem to bother them.

They can be so pedantic on other seemingly insignificant things , and yet dont care if they identify God by his wrong name ?

Isn`t his name supposed to be sanctified in all the nations ? Which name, his accurate name ,or his false name ?

Jehovah`s Witnesses seem to be quite happy promoting an erronous name thought up by a Catholic monk of the 13th century

LOL, probably neither. YHW may have been one of the gods of the Midianites, and the last 'H' was only added later. It's an interesting theory with a lot of evidence to back it up.

Look at spanish and how they pronounce Jesus,, its hee soos, not gee sus and so on. English is this case changes the sound of J.

Whats also funny is that all the names reserved as names of title of Jehovah are foreign gods. Adonai is Assyrian, Amen is egyptian , el is caaninite and so on.

I am suspicious of a God whose name keeps changing.

Maybe it's because he's trying to hide from his past...

Exodus 15:3: The LORD is a warrior; Yahweh is his name! - New Living Translation

Exodus 15:3: Jehovah is a man of war: Jehovah is his name. - American Standard Version

Exodus 15:3: Jehovah is a man of war; Jehovah, his name. - Darby Bible Translation

Exodus 15:3: Yahweh is a man of war. Yahweh is his name. - World English Bible

Exodus 15:3: Jehovah is a man of battle; Jehovah is His name. - Young's Literal Translation

Interesting that in some of these scriptures 'God' is called a man. Hmmm.... leads one to think God WAS made by man.

    Heaven:

Those are only translation styles. Jehovah has i cant recall 80 - 100 names. The article contains scriptures for many so this is simple not "tradition".

Their are catholic versions of the bible that contain yahweh throughout the OT.

I attended a funeral of a workmate about 10 years ago, conducted in the Uniting Church and one of the hymns sung in the packed church was honouring Jehovah . This is a church of christendom which had a number of mergers of different faiths.

On U-Tube you can find a song " Jehovah is He" you can find about 20 or so versions of this song ,sung by christians from all denominations all over the world confirming the lie that only JW`s use that name .

Maybe god isnt in heaven, hes a man who really really wants to scare people into think he is a god and victorious. If God is supreme he hardly needs to be a warrior because who would he be fighting ? YOu only need to boast like that if you are an equal or have comtemporaries that are actual threats.
