Perhaps we are picking up on these types of things much more now that we are "awake". Probably went over our heads before. I am so tired of hearing "the slave" this or that!!
But yeah I agree, the more I stay "in" the more cultish and creepy it gets for me.
no, its not just you. I've noticed the same and thought wow, everyone is becoming more and more brainwashed but I've realised that I'm just more aware of it now that i've woken up. The comments in particular about the website and how 'Jehovahs organisation is moving forward' really grate on me.
I think it is a combination of two things. First as others have stated, the more awake we are and the more we know about cult tactics we are, we become more and more hyper-aware of the brainwashing. We will see how the WT, a$$emblies and Conventions dispense the indoctrination, and we will be more sensitive to others when they make comments that reflect that the conditioning has been sucsessful.
Second, I do feel that they are ramping up the control. Fred Franz and his delusional mind and interpretations was crazy but now its ALL about FDS this, GB that. Organization here, Gods channel there. Witnesses are either starting to wake up, either slowly or real fast, or they are sinking deeper and deeper in im afraid. The more extreme they get, the more will leave on the one hand, but on the other hand, the die hards will become even more loyal to the 8 men.
I think Theocratic Sedition nailed it. I never realized how asleep I was until I woke up (if that makes any sense). When I learned TTATT and was still going to meetings........THAT is when I paid the closest attention to what was being said (both from the platform and in conversation). I think the kool aid level was always high......I just didn't notice HOW high before
I have to agree too - I think there is a lot more "OBEY THE GB!"
I mean, before it would have been maybe once or twice at each meeting, but now it seems like it's every item. Even (perhaps especially) in the Jeremiah book.
They seem to cram it in any way they can, regardless of whether it fits into the topic or not. They seem to even be doing it at the expense of actually learning anything new - it's all the same handful of scriptures re-hashed.
Jeremiah can actually be an interesting book from so many other angles - the history, chronology, events, archeology, the culture of the time - but all they do is twist it and harp on about GB this and GB that - very little time actually trying to see the verses and events in context.
I have noticed this too - I thinks part "auxilliary pioneer" season, memorial time, and circuit assembly time for a lot of congregations plus these "international" assemblies are bringing back a lot of warm, fuzzy memories of the good old days.
Fuzzy - just like their doctrine, reasoning and logic...
If there really is more JW talk going on it's probably because they need constant reassurance that they have the "truth." The more you say it, the more true it is.

I was baptized 58 years ago at the age of 10.
There used to be a lot more spiritual discussions.
After 1975 and the institution of the Elder arrangement in 1971-2 the quality of discussion declined.
All they have left is their favorite mantra "soon". They are all desperate because nothing has happened. So they try to whip up some degree of enthusiasm.
They've created all these various schools and the product is starting to emerge from the incubators. It is part of a strategy to boost morale.
I would say it's not just you. There is palpable evidence of "isn't the 'slave' wonderfull" attitude increasing.
"These Watchtowers are just wonderful! Wonderful gifts from God!"
Those blockhead JWs sure love their "meat in die season" from the faithful slave and they can't wait for the latest WT study-
