How does that graph work?
The descrepencies in regards to CHristianity increase and the RC for example.
Is it odd that those professing to notbe part of any religion and the pentacostals have the greatest increase?

Thanks for the update Paul.
Very interesting.
Here in New Zealand we are only now having the census after it was cancelled 2 years ago as a result of the Christchurch earthquake. As with Australia, the last two NZ censuses showed a decline in the numbers identifying as affiliated with the JWs so it will be interesting to see if there is a slight increase this time round, going from a high of (from memory) over 19,000 to around 16- to 17,000.
Do you have the Australian census statistics for the JWs prior to 1996 - I suspect the growth rates would have been more spectacular, especially in the years leading up to 1975.
I notice that the active publisher "growth" in New Zealand is best described as "spluttering": It is quite astonishing that since the mid-1990s, peak publishers have "stubbornly" hovered around the mid- to higher-end 13,000's, rising in 2009 above 14,000, then to a high of 14, 507 in 2011 but dropping again below 14,000 last year.
As you noted, the official census figures are usually much higher than the Watchtower's figures which only include (minimally) active JWs.
PS, I picked a few groups for the graph. There are other Christian religions falling, such as Anglican, hence the small rise in Christians overall.
AH, thanks JWfacts ( Paul).
I have heard that in a few other places, that the more "fundmentalist" religions are growing, along side with people claiming to NOT belong to any religion.
Interesting if that is the case.
I was just about to ask if the 2012 figures are available, when I noticed these were based on 5-yearly census stats...
