I moved to Florida from North Michigan a year ago. I have not been to a KH in over 15 years, that said they know who I am at my old hall. I got a knock at the door and it was an elder from my old hall. I guess he comes down south for the winter. LOL. That was about two weeks ago and now his wife shows up. Not sure if they are still trying to get me to say I don't believe in the JW way of life or not. I doubt it as they would not send a woman to do that. Do they report that information to the old hall records? Of not. Not sure how that's done.

the best thing to do here is simply dont answer the door to this nosey, meddling elder and his wife, dont waste energy on them.

I guess if they really cared about you, they could have made a point of visiting you while you still lived in the territory in N. Michigan.

So yes, I have to agree, they are not seeking you out for old times sake, like they missed you, they are on a mission to report back what they see and hear, to your old Hall.

If upon their first visit you realized they were still JWs, break off the relationship ASAP. They WILL report anything and everything to your old KH. They are spys and you can take that to the bank.

This would piss me off to no end. I would not answer the door if I saw them coming up.

If they happened to surprise me in the driveway, store, etc. I would say " excuse me " in a loud voice and walk away. I would not have a conversation with somebody trying to corner me.

As others have said, they are probably on a fact-finding mission. Because you got two visits, I am suspicious.

It is bad enough when somebody is in the early stages of fading or leaving. But, once off their radar and out of state, there is NO tolerance for this hounding garbage.

As problemaddict mentioned, it may be a totally honest thing.

Having lived down here for over 15 years, I have received at least 3 visits from people from my old congregation who were down here on vacation. He probably was just on a "goodwill" visit to see how you are doing. Since his wife also appeared (women don't have a penis and so are third class people in the Borg) it doesn't sound like a setup. If he was with another elder or brother, then it would be a totally different story.

But still, caution needs to be used.
