Yep checking the news now. Shame she didn't get to see the jubilee.

What was that famous quote about the children wouldn't leave because of the war without her, and she wasn't going without the king, and the king wasn't going anywhere?
101, a good age.
Englishman.
T'is sad news indeed but she has had a good run of it!!!
I feel bad she had to live thrugh so much scandal. She was one of the last vestiges of real 'royal dignity.'
I don't see the Monarchy being much of anything (not even a figurehead) once Liz passes on. Old horse face, Charles isn't exactly "King" material that inspires great confidence.
Kismet - who is still trying to figure out why the Queen's image is still on our (Canada) coins?
Well she had a good long life.
Looks like we will be getting a large state funeral—I wonder if she will get a bigger turnout than Diana did?
My condolences to the people of the Realm.
What we in the USA knew best of her was that she was greatly loved by the people of her country. It is good that she died without sufferring, in her sleep.

Britain's Queen Mother Dies at Age 101
Sat Mar 30,12:54 PM ET
LONDON (Reuters) - The Queen Mother, the 101-year-old mother of Britain's Queen Elizabeth, died on Saturday, Buckingham Palace said.
The Queen Mother, the widow of King George VI and a rock of support behind her eldest daughter Queen Elizabeth, died "peacefully in her sleep" after a period of declining health.

My condolences to you British on the passing of the Queen Mother. From what I seen and heard she was a classy and spunky lady.
If God's Spirit is filling a Kingdom Hall, how is it that Satan can manuever the ones within that Kingdom Hall at the same time?
It just said on the news that the first that Londoners knew about it was when the flag on Buckingham Palace was lowered to half-mast. A statement was posted on the railings. http://www.royal.gov.uk/output/Page1.asp
Englishman.
PS. Just noticed that the Queen mum had her own Royal standard, presumably this is the flag that will cover her coffin at the State funeral.
I heard that all flags were at half mast, except Buckingham Palace. The queen is in residence.
I can't see them breaking with that protocol again, even if they did do it for Diana.
She was hanging her tongue out to make the Golden Jubille, this year.
Didn't miss it by much.
