Awaiting the Death of Old Pharisees

It's hardly a whispered secret anymore. Countless elders
and publishers are waiting for the deaths of Governing
Body members - and other theocratic fossils - to allow
much needed change to come to the organization.

I suppose you could debate endlessly about Why the
Almighty must wait until a few old Pharisees die off
to bring moral reform to the Watchtower. However,
once you've been programmed not to question anything,
such issues become invisible, apparently. Nevertheless,
there are many HIGHLY LOYAL and WELL POSITIONED men in
this organization who are keeping a silent deathwatch!

If all of this seems cold and crude to you, remember,
I am just pointing out what is being admitted in private
conversations in the halls of theocratic power.

And anyway, in considering the damage and death the
Watchtower causes, the death of these stiff necked
reptiles is something to be eagerly looked for

After all, WHO WILL BE THE LAST WITNESS SUCKER TO
DIE FOR THE BLOOD TRANSFUSION ISSUE? When will ordinary
Witnesses be released from this doctrinal FRAUD?
When will families no longer be shattered by UNSCRIPTURAL
shunning ?- another standing fraud that exists as long
as cold hearted elderly cultists breathe air. When will
Witnesses be free to express doubt openly without the fear
that their friends and relatives are used as hostages
    in disfellowshipping?

When? when a few self righteous men are buried, that's
when - unless some committees can push them out of the way.

It all reminds me of a trench war, where soldiers
lay low, not wanting to be killed while an armistice
    is being signed.

And to those old men, I quote Solomon's words:

"And I hated all my hard work ... that I would leave
behind for the man who would come after me. And who
is there knowing whether he will prove to be wise or
foolish? Yet he will take control over all my hard
work ... This too is vanity." (Ecc. 2:18,19)

The whirlwind of change is coming.....

The 'GB' as was..the 'old pharisees' are less influential now. The various Corporations are headed up by great crowders. Not so long ago the GB..proper ruled the WT world. The stuff coming out of the WTS, now is the product of great crowders. The 'anointed' didn't do much in that area when they could..i.e. had active minds etc. For example the 'Aid' book was compiled without any supervision or input by the GB of the time. I can't see that changing. These old guys are ready to go. When they do...people will hardly notice because they do nothing of any susbstance with the WTS.

So what about change? I suspect the extent of it has already been determined. I wouldn't bank on great changes. I can't see the WTS changing too much on blood, DF'ing or general freedoms. If they do...they will just get hammered by us here on the net. and the secular press. A mass exodus will follow.

Every time I read a thread that you've authored I picture a little baby laying in its crib with his little rattler toy in his hand. He's so fascinated by the noise that he hears each time he moves his hand. Although it's nothing but noise it's still fascinating to its little infant mind. Of course nobody would want to deprive the youngster of its joy by taking away his toy. The difference though is that you're not a youngster … you just act and sound like one. Rattle on, little one!

Daniel 11:35 ... a KEY prophecy that must be fulfilled before the "time of the end" gets underway.

and yet my rattles often bring a quick response from
    you or You Know.

I'll keep rattling, thank you, as long as these
    corrupt old gerontocrats rule.

Well, ISP it isn't clear to me that DOCTRINE is firmly in the
hands of the reform minded committees. The No Subscriptions
letter ascribed the decision to the GB (altho that may be
a lie, as much else is).

i wouldn't hold my breath, waiting for any reaonable and intelligent change.

i know from personal experience, that there are many intelligent, men and women among the witnesses, but they long ago learned to shut-up, if no other reason, than NOT to cause upset among the "weaker" brothers!!!!!

.....but there are also a lot of time servers.

when the last of the GB dies, my guess is that we will get a museum organisation!!!

with a whole lot of caretakers, devoted to preserving in wax the dead thoughts of the past.

something like the waxen images of the dead leaders of totalitarian countries, who preserve the dead bodies of their "glorious" leaders (even re-embalming them every 12 months to keep their appearance fresh) for the faithful to queue up and view.

come to think of it -- isn't it already like that inside the "organ...", with security minded elders making sure the faithful do not deviate from the pronouncements of wisdom handed down from on high.

What is clearly shown in the history of the Watchtower Society is that the Governing Body is made up of only imperfect humans who make mistakes just like everybody else, who have clung to ideas that were not the truth, which resulted in harm to many people. The Society unwittingly admitted that its zigzagging, erroneous doctrines are products of mere men when it is stated "...Jehovah, the God who gives himself absolutely no scope for getting it wrong" (Watchtower 12-15-1992, p 32). The Society's gravest error lies in its claim of being more than imperfect humans; it lies in its blasphemous claim of being the channel of communication between Almighty God and all of humankind!
Although the Society cites scriptural support every time it changes its doctrines to a new point of view, and then later switches them back to the former view, and so on - common sense testifies to the fact that not all of those viewpoints represent the truth - hence, some of the time they represent false teachings. Paradoxically, the Witnesses - who pride themselves on being champions of truth - are very afraid of finding out what the truth about the organization is.
The Society makes many decisions about how JW's must live. It asserts its authority is from God, thus coercing the Witnesses into living their lives according to those decisions - but those decisions hurt people, and at times cost them their lives. Instead of humbly acknowledging its errors and asking forgiveness for the pain it has cause others, the Society presumptuously continues in its insistence that its authority is from God, shifting its doctrines to and fro without conscience as to how these doctrines are effecting those over whom it lords its power. Yes, the Society is an organization based on the vacillating, contradicting teachings of a singular collective group of mere men, as manifested by its many false prophecies and flip-flopping teachings which are obviously based on guesswork and imagination of men and not Divine direction of God.
Its ever-changing teachings are not founded on reality, but are wrong about as much as they are right - if indeed they are ever right at all...!

Here's a question that few JWs can answer? Name the members of the current Governing Body? I know I can't. My source, the Proclaimers book is hopelessly out of date, quite a few have "popped their clogs". Then, there are the new "young" anointed who recently were added.

Will new non-anointed members be added or will the GB die out and leave the religion to be run by a board of directors as it was in the days prior to 1971?
