The WT maintains that perfection was lost when Adam and Eve sinned. Neanderthals were a people of the same "Kind" or species in the biblical sense, as is evident from our all carrying some Neanderthal DNA.
As the neanderthals came before Adam and Eve, they must have been perfect, and yet their remains show some horrendous signs of disease.
I wonder how the WT could possibly explain all this ?

Actually they are still around, when I was a teeenager we had one of our circle of friends who looked just like the reconstructed guy that Besty's link takes you to.
As far as I am aware they were either a subspecies of homo sapiens or a different species altogether. They interbred with homo sapiens so modern humans carry Neanderthal dna.
I think you are on to something. Neanderthals are probably the offspring of Cain. They were near perfection at first, but perverted sons and daughters of a killer. They died off at the flood, but a wee bit of their DNA managed to get into Noah's children, probably through Noah's wife's family since there is never any mention that she was "righteous."
