Re: 2013 annual meeting
Dear Brothers:
We are pleased to announce that arrangements are being made for selected baptized publishers to be
invited to locations where the 2013 annual meeting programme will be presented on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
Although we understand the desire of all to attend, there will be no arrangements for the programme to be
translated into other languages, including British Sign Language. Therefore, those invited to attend should be
able to read and write English. The programme will originate from the Assembly Hall in Jersey City, New
Jersey, U.S.A., and will be tied in by video to all Assembly Halls, selected multiple-auditorium Kingdom
Hallsin Britain, and selected Kingdom Halls in Ireland. Those invited to attend the programme will receive a
non-transferable ticket. Only those with a ticket will be allowed admittance to the programme.
So that as many as possible may attend, the programme will be broadcast live on Saturday,
October 5, and repeated twice on Sunday, October 6. The programmes will start at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday
and at 9:00 a.m. and at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The programme will include Scriptural talks from Governing Body members and highlights of the
continuing progress of the preaching work and Jehovah’s organization. There will be reports of Kingdom
activity and interviews of invited guests from all over the world. There will also be a summary of the
Watchtower study article for the week of September 30, 2013. In all, the programme will last
approximately three-and-a-half hours.
This is the first time that this special event will be video broadcasted to this country. Shortly, we will
write to bodies of elders with instructions regarding the arrangements and who will be invited to attend.
Since a good portion of each congregation will not attend the annual meeting the elders should ensure
that appropriate arrangements are in place to hold the normal weekend congregation meetings.
We are sure that this arrangement will result in a mutual interchange of encouragement and rich
spiritual blessings for all in attendance. (Rom. 1:12) We send you our warm Christian love and greetings.
