Go look at the Dionysius cult. The wine and bread is copied from that greek religion.

Go look at Genesis 14. Bread and wine was offered by Melchizadech. Who copied whom?

Well first Mel didnt know Jehovah he was worshipping another God on top of a mountain. Many ancient gods lived on MOuntains, Mt Olympus, Mt Zion, Mt Sinai, Pyramids( a type of man made mountain), goto any culture and theres often this theme found.

IN the above case i was highlighting why jesus was making these statements. The gospels include many stories wehre Jesus is one upping somebody be it a god or great man. The wine & bread is to best Dionysius, the bread & fishes it to best Elijah(or was it elisha) you can find a smaller scale miracle in the OT and so on. THe death of innocents is to best Moses etc. I could continue on but that should be enuff for now.

Many of Jewish customs were copied from their neighbours. The jews copied circumcision from the Egyptians, they also copied sacrifices from Caananites. The art and architecture and temple were also copied from neighbours. Much of the religion is copied sometimes with local customisation.

What the gospels are trying to prove is that Jesus is the same as Dionysius or any other god. The difference is this is a new revelation and you need to update your knowledge. He is not new. All gods in the ancient world were the same. The greeks called Jupiter Zeus, all the same just different names but basically teh same thing.

We can see the same in tthe OT, wehre God is called by titles which are actually the names of local gods. Adonai = Adonis(Syrrian), El(Canaanite) , El Shaddai ( god of the mountain), etc

The priests are trying to say they are the official spokesman just like the pope. Dont goto other temples, we want your money and business. Thats all it is.
