I am chiming in late, but as for "time," sooner or later you have to have nothing to report when you fade.
I am not sure if you gave them some made-up story for the past several months or not. But if you want to fade, you have to get them used to ZERO time.
If you gave them time, go to ZERO now. It's an all-volunteer organization that cannot DF you for not participating. You had trouble getting your time in and they are now used to that. Time to stick with ZERO.
Just noticed this too. Glad you're still with us. It's good to get ideas as to planning the exit strategy. Lots of good suggestions here already, especially playing up the stressed, depressed, etc mode, elders are tired of dealing with that.
The ball is in your court, you have the power now that you know the manipulation behind the curtain. Remember that when someone tries to play the heavy hand. Do whatever you can to safeguard your cherished relationships. You will have to be cunniing. Play by your rules now.
That elder who told you that you weren't following procedure by texting him your time and you gave him a smart answer. Well, if he calls you on it, just say something like you know Br Jerk stress can cause a person to react in different ways.
Fade on, full steam ahead. Sounds like you have just cause to be "stumbled"with all the things you listed here.

I was told by elderette that any time spent talking about the 'truth' ( which I don't know what is anymore ) with anyone (kids, friends, family, anyone) is classed as witnessing / ministry / doing the work.
I was beating myself up all the time that I was progressing forward to be able to go ut in ministry etc.
I was stressing that I wasn't good enough personally and couldn't figure out why I wasn't as dedicated as everyone else etc.
So many things have never been sitting right with me, but I didn't know why, and felt it's me personally.
Now I see you all here, and I see there are others like me too.

That the CO is in town is very telling. The CO is usually an extreme bully in elders meetings and the BOE are probably frightened they'll get a royal ticking off for 'inactive(TM)' or 'irregular(TM)' 'publishers(TM)'.
